Just "use gayser" log is ban reason. [13 JULY EDIT. BAN REMOVED ACC NOW CLEAR]

Hello everyone,

I received an e-mail by ea at 7 am today and was shocked when I saw the contents of the mail. I saw that my apex account was suspended due to "hate speech" and I'm leaving the chat log with "hate speech" in the email sent to me :D :D

As you can see, my account was banned for 1 week because of the sentence in which I told us to use the asset, which is a "structure" in the game. I think EA has entrusted the department with account authority to "interns". I just want to ask this. I am no longer surprised to see that many people like me have been banned unfairly on the forum.

Doesn't your conscience ache?

hello again everyone. I restarted the 2nd time e-mail with the Ea team, this time in case someone different would reply. As I said, the ban on my account was investigated again and my concerns were justified. The ban on my account has been removed and I will be able to log in to the game again. They said we will take the necessary measures to prevent this issue from happening again. In addition, our authorized friend from the EA team sent me a private message and informed me personally and confirmed that the ban on my account was remove, saying that there was a misunderstanding (You can see him at last reply) I'm glad they helped and brought me back to the game. Trying a second chance in communication brought me positive results. I wish everyone good luck and good games 🙂🙂

On a serious note; be careful because these "hate speech and harassment" temporary bans add up and dont seem to ever reset. I said something bad in S2 and got banned for 24h. Then I behaved up until S10 or something when I said "had no f-word ammo" (after someone raged at me and said things 10x worse) and got banned again, this time a week. So I guess, next time is permaban even if its 4 years from now =)
But in all honesty, its actually spelled geyser and I guess the bann system is automatic, just banning based on certain words and not the context, I am not defending the system because its actually super pathetic. Better not use the text chat at all.

@BalladalidilaThanks for your message man. When I saw the content of the message, I wondered whether that word was "gayser" rather than "geyser". I just lol and feel sorry for the system.

First of all, not everyone has to know English "like a native language" and some words struggle to be written the way most people hear the pronunciation. It's like someone who doesn't speak English can't tell the difference between "gray" and "grey". Honestly, maybe it's "gray", but when I typed many times "grey" until now, there was no problem.

Let's put everything aside;

In my native language, geyser is pronounced and written as "gayzer". So our nation and language are making fun of and insulting people who are "gay"? I've noticed that they're great at getting people hooked on little letter games and turning people off from the game. Instead of dealing with people's thoughts on lgbt, you could have embraced the players better with a "small and effective" warning. Not like "one week ban"

If one of this ea team had been sentenced to a week in prison for calling me "gay", I'm sure none of them would have approved this decision. But they preferred to ban my account for 1 week directly. Even in the Riot Games "League of Legends", in case of a penalty for hate speech, they allow players to take lessons in a peaceful environment with small warnings, first a penalty of 5 games, then a penalty of 10 games, then a penalty of 25 games, and then a banning for not using chat for 1 week.

@VenozanteR Wow, I feel bad for you. That is actually really pathetic indeed. It goes to show you that now only does an automated system flag words, but clearly it is also the automated system that looks at the relevance of the content and how it was used and determines a ban.
There is no way an actual human being would have made that decision to ban based on the content. Clearly it would have been chalked up as a spelling mistake by a human.
We can see from this example and many others, a computer is judge, jury and executioner. WTF!?

@VenozanteRJust wow, this is ridiculous. They could easily prevent this by just adding a word filter that blocks these words by default, but I guess it's too much to expect that..
Makes me wonder about all the threads we see where people claim to be unfairly banned for cheating..

Have you reached out to anyone and what did they say?

I followed the procedures regarding unfair ban and reached them by e-mail. clearly and in a long way "why was I banned? is it really just for this sentence?" I asked and expressed my thoughts. they gave me a response right away and said in a clear language "we will not unban". What I don't understand is this. If I were talking about sexism that is actually "gay", what insult or hate speech could the sentence "use gayser" contain to "gays"? If I was really going to make fun of gays, I'd say something like "lol are u gay? xd xd" or something heavier to say the least.

@NickBeam27 Your message contains the most clear and concise explanation of my grievance, my friend. Thank you. I have many online games and story mode games on my computer but playing apex was a separate pleasure and being unfairly alienated me from the game.

If this system (i.e. artificial intelligence) has thrown the ban, human intervention is required for such situations and artificial intelligence needs to be more selective. Just flagging bad words and "command: Ban players who use these words" is just nonsense.

@VenozanteR I can't believe they won't unban you. EA is really starting to slide. About what you said about the word, I agree, unless it's intended as a type of insult I don't see the problem, it was clearly just a typo.

This just screams automated message. Makes you wonder if sending a ban appeal would ever work in the first place.
