I always tought the same and how fustrating it is but never really came up with any actually good solution to the issue without reworking the entire RP system so had to rant about other things related to RP gaining instead.
I bet there is some smart peoples out there that will figure simple yet effective way to neglect it tho.
It always made me mad for playing alone and doing the most, and sometimes being left with less rewards but in the end that's the same for everybody else too. Only three stacks are in different field of view on this subject and i think they dont even belong in to the solo system neither does such an high aim assist on controller

I am a noob in the game -just started in Season 8- but got a hundred hours of play and 700+ games.
From the variety of *-kicking I got (because I can't fight properly, I got everything average except aim that is crappy -while I can sometimes do trick shots on the range-),
victories too (sometimes not being carried but giving decisive help and damages), and top tens/5 (1/6 or 1/20 of the games),
here a few thoughts and ideas:
-even not fighting, you can survive pretty easily by dropping in far areas, stuffing like a turkey, and being more ready than you could be getting in contested areas
hence surviving to the lobby should not be a thing, not even for daily challenges. I grinded some daily goals because I am like this and have time at times,
but what I do to adapt my level of skill should not be rewarded, it makes the game less interesting for everyone (running 10 minutes, ending in 10 ten while not ko ing somebody, and getting wiped by a solo is not a great feat)...
-I snipe sometimes (not that it is easier, I try to adapt to opportunities and to behave tactically), and don't feel like I don't deserve my "stolen" frags. Actually, sometimes I am the careful guy in a team of better fighters/less headed players. They don't share ammos, siringes, packs, loot without thinking, be it areas or deathbox, they don't use "collective" tacticals/ults (like a loba never doing her market), they don't ever ping. But indeed they fight better.
So, being less headed, they rush with what they have, and get some KO but get wiped by the better level member of the enemy team. So to prevent the enemy team raise again, or too quickly, I get their frags by killing the KOs. If I can and situation allows it, I try to kill the last man standing, or getting them back.
Sometimes, I will be giving a considerable advantage to my teamates by flanking the enemies, who don't know that I aim like an * (because I can hit sometimes), will divide their attention, and die as a consequence if they are not too stuffed or good (other times they wipe us all).
This kind of strategy don't get points, still, while I am sometimes not worth my weight because I can't really fight and get killed more easily if close combat ensues, I sometimes am more than worthy, since I will carry good stuff to my teamates, ping, give good directions on the way to go and so on.
But indeed, this is not about "Carebear Legends", so I guess only kills should count (a little ironic, here, am I?)
Still, if other rewards were to be made, in my opinion they should be indexed on who you perform on too, like frags. It's less easy to KO a higher level guy.
-I tested ranked once, to see what it would be to have a full lobby of broken legs/walking deads like me. I got wipped by a team of 100+ frags/100k dmg guys.
Smurfing and remaking account to not kill your "average" is what kills ranked in my opinion. In bronze IV, your predator is the bronze I guy.
I think that you should start in ranked depending on multiple conditions like your KD rate+ a threshold on games (with adjustments if you don't reach such threshold).
As for the problem of many hours players against those who don't but are skilled too, that's quite unfair too, so maybe there should also be threshold there, where you can compensate less games played by more awesome K/D rate.
Having a average or median, instead of an accumulation of points, would be better. Even a sucker like me can grind many points of damage in daily goals, kills can happen too.
Good players will always be able to pay the entry cost at higher level, and by being slight better, they could grind to a level above their skill, their level on inability.
Having an average/median, or a better one, would avoid this. Once you've proven you're worth your salt, give me what you got in your new league, whoever got in the top 10% of the average of this group for K/D (with thresholds) gets higher, bottom 10% go back to their previous league, and the other one fight and try not stalling.
You should play a minimum number of games before the end of a season, and regular "rounds" (each week) would be made to adjust players who deserve to climb faster if they want to instead of being automatically adjusted in the end of each season (without choice, this time).
The minimum number of games would not kill ranked or game activity, as tallies could get higher as well when you go in superior ranks.
But that would allow non pro to compete too, in realistic ranges. They may have less marging to get a better average, but still, then they could also train on normal since SBMM is also in normal games (and if you are ranked, I can guess they can match you better to other players).
the base for the median you use to classify people would not be the same depending on which level you are:
bronze: "normal points" eg the points you earn in normal games (barred some removals like survival time as even dummies like me can do it and the game would become hide and seek. That could make more "predators" than "relentless killers" still😉)
For Gold, KO and Frags would be counted.
plats would only take frags into account.
Diamonds/master would take frags into account with also "zone control" and rounds dominance
As for predators, they would be chosen amongst top 10% masters based on their median of victories and only this. You are not a real apex predator if you get killed, but if you utterly dominate.
I feel like this could be more fitting to the lore of the apex games, and more varied.
