Lag Comp ruins this game! Time and time again I get killed going around corners. I can't see the bullets I get hit before they are even around the corner. Season after season nothing gets fixed. Can we get an event with lag comp turned OFF! Or a room with it off. Season after season they never address the terrible server flaws with this game. I also can't connect to the mid-west servers. It says 17 - 20ms in the lobby yet it connects me to Texas every time (50 -60 ms in the game) This should be top priority if you ask me. Fix this! its ruined the game!

I totally agree that Lag Compensation ruins this game for Me and I speak for MANY Players when I say it doesn't do Apex Legends any favors. It is a system that was only set up as a cash grab to allow the widest range of Players and Audience to access it. I have been shot around corners or immediately bursted down while strafing. Literally every shot will hit Me as if I'm standing still when in fact I'm bobbing and weaving, bullets are flying past Me, but the Server registers every shot hit Me. It's such a disgusting problem. I'm honestly going to have to limit My Servers to get higher ping to just not be at a disadvantage. I pull anywhere from 23-36 ping. I ever bought a new Router for Apex just to get a better direct connection. Yes I'm plugged into a LAN cord, yes it's a new cord. Everyone will tell You it's You Internet, do not listen to Them. Respawn is at fault for this pile of garbage call Lag Compensation. This is on Them and They need to be held accountable.

@Xbox-Chf-Wiggum Its actually not something that is supposed to work a certain way but is broken . Its a conscious design choice made by Respawn, a choice they deemed the best of all other available options. They explained it in a a blog post a couple of months ago (link below). To quote the most summarizing line: “Lag compensation is the art of merging slightly different experiences into one shared reality.”Even if I also get annoyed when I clearly is out of line of sight and still get hit, I think we all must understand there isnt a "perfect solution" to this that Respawn just failed to implement. We have 60 players, all with different pings to the servers which leads to 60 different "realities" that 60 different people are experiencing when they share the lobby. So Respawn chose to let the client of the attacker determine the hit, i.e if I hit you on my screen, its a hit, regardless where you are at your screen. In other words; with the current system, you have an attackers advantage but you also have a disadvantage if you are on the run, trying to escape an attacker.I dont know if the overall experience would be better if they chose another method of hit detection, like 100% server sided, but something tells me that that kind of hit detection would work quite badly in a BR hrmm,. It would probably lead to much even more random stuff like no regs, even though I personally probably would benefit since my ping usually is 18-24 ms. Actually there is a perfect solution that has been around for years now! It's called dedicated servers and ping-based matchmaking.Why on earth when I am connecting to datacenter with 40ms ping I am actually playing on server with ping 90ms?Years ago You could choose a server with the lowest ping and play there or just set Your own server and play it with lowest possible ping. But now with the approach of "game as a service" dedicated servers can't be in a hands of customer.

It's honestly funny being told to check your connection, when I've literally played Apex with another person on the same Wi-Fi, both of us were wireless, and when we had issues like lag, our 3rd (who was a random) complained about the problem as well.Which leads me to believe it's a server issue, more or less problems with a data center. When we last played, it was on October 31st, 2021, and we were playing Shadow Fall. The lag we've experienced, was similar to a DDOS attack, as everyone in the game around us were in slow motion, a team was squad wiping a lot of players, and our 3rd got disconnected and didn't seem to be able to rejoin. Then the team killing everyone got sniped and the lag stopped.Can we honestly get better servers, or at the very least not get told to check our connections everytime it's clearly a server issue?

Can't be fixed because of how every online game that doesn't look like a complete stutter fest works. The main thing I would like to know is why battle royals have such a low tick rate server at the stars of the match. Is it really because of today's hardware limitation or are better servers so expensive that even someone like EA can't afford to run them?

@TheApexLegendNub If they do, it needs to be turned off and kept off. No one should be awarded free kills because they have such a terrible ping, they can shoot people who aren't moving on their end, and deal damage, even though that player they're hitting is behind a wall.

I've ran across the map in Arenas, and went around a corner, and a player who was also around a corner was able to shoot me as if I was out in the open. This is unacceptable and shouldn't be a thing at all.

@Midnight9746 I'm not sure that it lag compensation doing that. I only experienced this recently while switching servers so my guess would be server issue or my connection, bc the game was running fine for me while I was able to select a closer server. I've had this issue before and switching to a higher ping server sometimes helped make it less of an issue. If it was ping, the problem should have been worse in that case.

@PsyhiX69 but isn't that just the game being out of sync? Otherwise if the game "compensated" like it should, shouldn't those shots have missed? I mean, you BOTH should be seeing the same thing if the game compensated correctly? This seems very one sided to his favor. Or am I missing something?

Either way, I don't feel like I'm being compensated for my ping at all. 180 in game minimum. People do this to me quote often but it varies in severity.

The lag compensation was introduced to "fix" the issues with people playing at different pings (from 10ms to even 200ms) good luck balance that.
They made a choice to mix all these people together and to give high ping players "a fair chance" they added lag compensation so they can actually hit anyone with lower ping. That's why low-ping players are usually suffering being hit behind the cover.

One of them seems to work a bit "BF1" but the rest nop :/
