Less strafing, more aiming

Most online shooters have similar issues, where players move left to right non-stop to avoid getting shot, whether they're being attacked or not. I also do it, because there is nothing which penalizes me from doing it. I've played both casual and realistic shooters and something that I've realized is that gameplay is far better when strafing penalizes you. My suggestion is that when moving around, your cross-hair starts to wave around until you stop moving. The player which stands still and is aiming, should always have the advantage.

Think of it as a recoil for moving around. You should be able to still do it, but you will be slightly penalized for doing it. Perhaps weapons which are larger, could have a more severe recoil for moving while shooting. That way, more agile players will want smaller guns, which may not be powerful, but allow you to dodge while in a gunfight.

  • The problem is the trash servers. Sometimes strafing is nothing to me. Other times people walk side to side and they become bullet proof. Like sniper shots that hit before suddenly don't.  Shotguns hit for 7 not 70. Net code is so janky other games I play don't have this problem.

bro you are describing the mechanics of counter strike... the best fps of all time for me, i would love some similar mechanics for this game but maybe the game is more fun this way, just fast paced run and shooting.

The whole tactical playing of CS is boring as f...

Fast paced games are way more fun 🙂

  • Hate it or not, but the OP has a point.

When I came into Apex Legends, the first thread I opened was about how the aiming and gun play in this game is vastly different from other shooters I have played. My accuracy of previously 40% - 50% has dropped to roughly 10% by just switching a single game. Why? Because all the gained knowledge from other games had zero relevance in Apex Legends. Instead of sitting still and having the positional advantage being your biggest ally, it now was whoever moves the most frantically with the best accuracy wins. Besides smurfs of course, my biggest problem was how the game handles gun play. Zero momentum, zero accuracy loss, zero movement penalty. On top of hitbox sizes. And no-reg. And many more.

Nowadays I can handle it somewhat, but in turn I have issues in other shooters now.

  • @KrilMun Bruh, that guy is married by now. His wife doesn't let him play Apex anymore. Try making your own thread instead of necroing.

Guess what kind of legend killed me. You'll never guess it. 🤔

    Spoiler
Well, it was an octane who was strafing faster with his R-99 than I can run forward with my weapon holstered.

On a positive note, the apex pack I got after this match gave me a legendary, so it's kind of a win I guess.

A legendary for Bangalore, but a legendary nonethless, lol.

@Peri_Longbow_plzPlaying Zombie Army 4 I am bouncing all over the place and strafe shooting, to a degree one of my friends complained about it. 😂 Bro, I play Apex, I can't help it. But my accuracy on ZA4 is around 50% anyway, so at least Apex hasn't ruined accuracy for that game.
