It's be interesting to see how ea responds to refund requests of any purchases made in say... the last 6 months. They'll probably refuse but it'll ne very interesting to see it progress through a mis-selling national complaints process.
Normally if a game shuts down you're out of luck, but ea/respawn *choosing* to terminate the contract and remove your access to that content while supporting it for others makes for an interesting angle. They'll hide behind Terms of Service but in most countries those can't overrule misspelling... especially because this won't have been a snap decision - they considered it in advance, while taking your money, and then terminated it.
@EA_MakoWill Windows be banned next, because 100% of cheaters and cheat developers are using Windows? You need to develop server side anticheat. Requiring Steam Deck users to * their machines to play the game just makes it inaccessible and it does not solve the cheating problem.
My read of this is that the developers are trying to protect ranked matches.

Let Linux play casual games and don't let it on ranked matches. Then all of the cheaters will be on Windows and when EA gets sick of them too, they can ban Windows from ranked matches too.
No one has used Linux to develop cheats for Apex Legends. EA are just saying that, so they have something to blame the change on. In order to develop a cheat on Linux, you would have to go through Proton, Wine AND Steam, in order to write something which would work on Windows. So everyone are perfectly right for calling out EA and Respawn Entertainment for such a change.
Lets not spread false information here on the Forum please.
Just so you are aware Linux Devices were never supported for Apex Legends.
