Matchmaking is so broken

Im new to apex and fps games in general on pc and started out quite well in lobbies with players similar to my level. Suddeny i reached lvl 13 and got promoted big time - I got matched against lvl 500 players with thousands of kills on each legend.

I played about 10 games and died off spawn before I quit. I can understand that you should progress along with the more you play but jumping from lobbies with lvl 1-25 players to lvl 500 is a rough transition. I mean, im just starting to learn which key does what and get matched against good, experienced players. In what world is this balanced matchmaking? It must be frustrating for my teammates as well that has to play 2v3 the entire game since i have no chance of helping them other than running in as bait to get slaughtered.

Also, from what I read in other posts I get demoted back to my normal lobbies if I perform badly a couple of games. I would love it if some developer could tell me how many times I have to die before I can enjoy the game again, is it 10,15, 20? Thank you for making a balanced and fair game 🙂

Well, no one knows ( but many speculate) how SBMM works but when I created my only Smurf account, I got 4k dmg, 15+ kills the very first game and then, for my second game on the account, was I back in matches Identical to what I get on my high level main account with 2.4 K/D.

So based on your story, i.e that you actually was able to play several matches in "low level/newbie" matchmaking, makes me believe that there is some lower threshold of K/D (or some other stat like dmg dealt per match) that separates newbies from the regular matchmaking. If so, it just seems like you manage to pass this threshold and now have to play with the big boys =)
