I kind of expected Path getting a nerf b/c he would escape so often, but 35 seconds is a lot. I'd have said max 24, min 20 seconds would've been a good nerf.
- 6 years ago@Abyssloli But the main problem was his grapple not his ult. Nerfing his ult would have barely impacted his overall gameplay.
- 6 years ago@Adendon Don't fix something that ain't broke. Pathfinder's gameplay was fine, nerfing his ult would have decreased his winrate without making him unplayable.

Season 4 was probably one of the best-balanced ones but you just threw it down the *. What is wrong with you Respawn?
You prove AGAIN that you are unable to release a bug-free patch, yet you decide to mess with things that work just fine. Seriously wtf?! Check your priorities!

First and foremost, I'd like to thank the developers at Respawn for delivering such a content rich update for Season 5. Second, I have long been a fan of this game series since Titanfall 1. I have more hours logged on Titanfall, Titanfall 2, and Apex Legends than any other video game. The Respawn team has truly done a remarkable job developing exceptional games.
I have been a player of Apex since the day it launched, and have not played many other games since. I have also been a ride-or-die Pathfinder player since launch day. I completely agree that a reduction in power was necessary for Season 5, as his quick grapple recharge did often make fights "muddy". I noticed this both while fighting other Pathfinders as well as when winning fights I really had no business winning. However, this nerf has made him completely unplayable. Increasing the cooldown time for this ability to 20 to 25 seconds would have been more than sufficient to balance this character. However, 35 seconds truly makes him nearly useless. This is now the longest recharge of any tactical ability, and with his zipline having very specific usefulness, Pathfinder is often left without any abilities at all in a fight. Furthermore, I fail to see why the grapple cooldown is longer than Loba's Bracelet, as this offers much quicker repositioning with much greater range.
I would like to offer two possible changes to Pathfinder that I seriously hope the developers will consider:
1) Reduce grapple recharge time to 25 seconds
-OR-
2) Allow two useable grapples (like Revenant or Bangalore), each with a 60 second cooldown.
I'm sure I'm not the first to mention my displeasure with the Pathfinder changes. I hope the developers take the community's feedback to heart and make Pathfinder a useable legend again. It's disappointing that instead of playing Season 5 the way I'd like to at the competitive level I am used to and enjoying the new content, I'm either trying to learn how to use a different legend (which is like trying to completely re-learn the game) or getting completely outplayed using my favorite character that has become unusable.
