More and more players modifying .cfg files to gain an advantage.

I really think this is unfair for other players in the lobby who haven't done so, and thus should be forbidden.

I love Apex more than any other FPS games because this game is more about movement, not only about one's shooting skills. I think this is why it's more fun than CSGO or BF5 or something.

But now, by modifying .cfg files, people can make those advanced movements, like super glide and tap strafe, much easier than those who haven't modified .cfg files.

There are videos teaching people how to modify the .cfg files or even just provide modified .cfl files for download and replace.

I don't see why this is allowed, as nobody is getting banned for it.

But if more and more people do this, I think movement as Apex's advantage over other FPS games is gonna be lost, and it's just a matter of time.

okay lets say it gets removed and you can no longer make super gliding easier or tap strafing easier through config... its still in the game. its still possible. tap strafing is easy af. there is no "making it easier". its easy af. super gliding is the really hard one. its really inconsistent as well. but even if you get rid of editing the config file or modifying it in there its still possible. and how many times have you got super glided on anyway? theres not even that many people that can do it consistently to win any type of fight with it.

  • @GasYunoController users make super gliding and tap strafe too. + use modded constoller for no recoil and strong custom aim assist.

  • @GasYuno disagree - advanced movement is not "easy" and especially not easy to perform in sticky situations when people are coming for all sides, you are not the calmest person as well and have 100 different things going through your head.

In my experience super-glide is really hard to do plus it is FPS dependant, link that with ever unstable FPS (for me drops go as low as -100 FPS, already posted about it in forums, no reply from Respawn or AMD on this topic) = you can't pull this off constantly like 100 out of 100, show me the video if you can.

Tapstrafe - easier, much easier if you have infinite scroll wheel, yet still some people in game do it like nobody's business, usually showing off by just randomly putting Octane jumpad and tapstrafing 180+ degree moves during ranked games. I personally can tap but not that good and not that often in a row.

Same goes with superjump which is basically a given when you see a good Pathfinder main player, they just pull it off again like nobody's business especially during fights, that is helpful to be honest.

@DevgruNil - I know that people do not modify .cfg files but rather create macro commands for it via mouse software similar to no recoil scripts and alike, but this game can't detect all of that unfortunately...

@DevgruNil yup easy to find via google even after link from this post has been removed. Typical stuff for FPS games, has been around for ages when game allows to execute config files while in game.

Also as mentioned in some related reddit posts it is sad that Apex has not introduced cfg/game file check to a proper level upon launch given I know that in some FPS games people with a bit more info on what those commands mean and do can really affect gameplay even more, not sure about Apex... but this clearly works and is a good example of typical scripting done by people.

Solution - just remove those movement techniques as they make no sense anyway and are pulled off mostly via things like this give it is more luck than skill-based movement (talking about superglide and FPS dependence).
