Multi-partying is now an issue

I've run into groups working together on at least 3 occasions now. It will be two seperate squads working together in the same game.

Apex Legends needs to do something about this ASAP. I'm sure people will cry rivers about it. But it's making the game unplayable for those of us who do not participate in clans/groups. If you only have 2 or 3 friends on at a time and can't get a group of 6+ players together and end up in a match with 2 teams working together, you don't stand a chance. 6vs3 is just not something you can over come in this game.

If they don't fix the queue timer and match making, you're going to end up pushing people like me out of the game.  You'll end up with the same groups playing each other, who will eventually get bored and migrate to some other game. Most people won't be smart enough to figure out that's going on. They'll just get fed up with constantly getting what they believe to be third partied. But if they do stick around and watch, you'll see a group of 6 players all looting your death boxes together and not fighting.

I can deal with third partying to some extent. It's a tad annoying, but if two competing teams you can occasionaly over come it. The confusion amongst the other teams can occasionally leave an opening for a come back.

  • What's the solution though?

Prevent squads queuing into the same matches in sequential games?

That'll significantly increase queue times. (Dramatically so if they expand the number of game modes to solo/duo)

Ranked is already evidence of this, with significantly longer queue times at certain hours. Moreover you frequently get matched against the same opponents in back to back games.

    Reporting such behaviour?

Extra policing work for their staff, and banning players drives away customers; not something that's healthy long-term.

Well there are a couple of ways one could go about this. For starters if people are friends, don't dump them into the same matches unless they are on the same team. Another potential solution, suspend accounts of people caught doing it. First offense a 1 week suspension, second offense a 1 month suspension, third offense 6 months and 4th 1 year suspension. Hand out the suspension across all EA games, not just Apex Legends. That would make people knock it off real quick, but I'm a firm believer in harsh punishments for bad behavior.

Depending on how long it takes the game to generate matches.. queue timers. When a team presses the queue button, it randomly picks a  time between .01 seconds and 59 seconds before it actually starts looking for a match. One team would get let's say 10 seconds before it actively looks for a match, while another would get  40 seconds before it looks for a match. This would help get them into different matches. If new matches are generated every 10 seconds then set it so the times are at least 10 seconds apart.

This way if you have two teams press Y at close to the same time they will end up in different matches most of the time. 1 might get a queue timer of 10 seconds, while the other 30 seconds. The team with the 10 second timer will go into match before the team with the 30 second timer.

Do away with the "here is your champion" page. That makes it easy to identify if you're on the same map. But I'm not sure how effective that would be, you can still identify it based on the flight path of the drop ship, the landing location of the ship with loot and the hot zone.

Not doing anything about it is going to hurt the game as well. I'm not going to continue to play against groups of players. We stand absolutely no chance against 6 people. It's even worse when the 6 people working together are skilled players.

Look at BFV, Cheating has destroyed that game. This is cheating in some degree or another.

I agree ranked has long wait times. But what would we prefer? Fair gaming and long wait times? or horrible gaming and short wiat times? I'll tell you what happens when I start getting tag teamed, I close the game and so do my friends.

I used to play BFV frequently on my xbox. Mouse and Keyboard players have absolutely ruined it for many. If you're a casual gamer with a standard controller, then BFV is absolutely unplayable  for you.

Is this really such a frequently occurring problem that it need to be prioritized? Ive seen teaming once or twice in my 500 hours of playing this game.

Generally, I dont think most naabs who would think teaming is a fun think to do would have the patience to sit and wait through legend selection several times just to get into the same server as their buddies. And if people do this in ranked, they will loose RP every game they dodge when they dont get into the same game...
