Mute footfall sounds after death?

Is there a way to mute all the footstep sounds just after you die? It really grates.

I might be a bit of Misophonia or ADHD on my part, but that, mixed with just being wiped out, really gets my goat.

Doesn't help that all them footsteps sound like everyone is wearing flippers.
