I am having this same issue. If you're on xbox one then what you can do is unmap the Right stick click functionality completely but only if you shell out $170 for the elite controller. I had this problem fixed and in the bag until this patch that added the quip wheel. I remember in Halo they had an in game setting called something like "Deep press right stick" and it fixed this problem for me way back on xbox 360. I'm going to have to go buy a new controller just so I can avoid pressing in a button too far. I guess another option would be to take apart a controller and either snip a wire or scratch through the metal coating on a circuit board so that R3 will never work. I wouldn't be too keen on trying that though unless you have a spare controller lying around.

Try R3 interact/loot/revive/reload or R3 Crouch (maybe on hold)- 6 years ago
I've done this. Not because I wanted R3 empty but just a result of my new control set up. On PS4, set Auto Sprint ON, crouch on HOLD, swap CIRCLE with R3, then, set L3 to Circle also....
This puts crouching/sliding on L3 & sets Melee to Circle. R3 is empty

R3 Interact doors/loot/revive/reload:
Actually i'm using Tap to use/Hold to reload so i can take cover behind a door heal up reload then open door and shoot.
You can't do that with default Tap to use/Tap to reload. 😉 while you reload it opens the door 😅Hold to reload you don't end up reloading in the middle of a shooting.
Plus gun automatically reloads when clip is empty so no delay.
It takes time to get used to it but i like it.
