Netcode

Any update on this? Are you going to fix it? The more I play the worse this game gets because you don't seem to care that your netcode is garbage. Sick of laggers having an advantage over people with good connections.

  • If Apex was server confirm then yes, laggy players wouldn't have an advantage. Apex has client confirm, server authenticate netcode. Which means if you're behind cover, when that person with 300 ms shoots you while you're lagging on their screen, then their client will confirm a hit and the server authenticates it while you're behind cover. I have been downed multiple times behind cover when trying to disengage from an unfairly stacked firefight and it irks me to no extent that EA / RE is giving people a bonus of additional lag shielding and latency abuse just because their connection is *. (It doesn't help either that several of RE's data centers are also experiencing packet loss en transit but that's another topic entirely) 

    Apex Legends has data centers around the world, there's absolutely no reason people should voluntarily play solo on an NA server from a different continent. If they want to play with friends from other games, then there should be a dedicated international server with a standardized latency. (This shouldn't be too hard since the servers are only 20 tick servers anyway)

  • If someone has * connection netcode wont fix it, this game also favors shooter so doesn't matter if he lags if you can land shots

  • There is very good article about Apex Legends netcode on Youtube with title "Apex Legends Netcode Needs A Lot Of Work". Result is not very good for Apex Legends. Netcode should be optimized, but I have doubts about it.

    It has got too much publicity now, they will improve their Netcode. EA should send a few of the Dice devs over to Respawn, to help with their netcode. Battlefield games run great online.

  • Of course, tell me how to fight laggy/ high ping players and I'll do it, I'll genuinely be looking forward for your response

    Yes this is a major issue. Has been since launch. Lets also not forget code net, code leaf, and code wheel. Respawn posted something a few weeks ago saying they fixed these issues. But they haven't. I still get disconnected probably 30%-45% of the time. And I know its not my internet. My ping is 28ms or better with 0% packet loss. And pretty much every other game i play for multiplayer works great. Apex just really is a crap show when it comes to their servers. If it wasnt for those then the game would be a lot more enjoyable. Still not incredible to play but it would be better.
