Never do Specific Legend+Survive rings again

I do not want to spend 2 hours playing safe for ring closings over, and over, and over, on characters I don’t want to play, ever again.

Nothing makes me want to play this game less than 3 straight games of playing a legend I don’t like super passively, in order to try and advance ONE of multiple EQUALLY TEDIOUS challenges for other legends I don’t want to play.

“Survive X amount of ring closings” is totally fine as a general battle pass challenge. Thats something that you advance by playing the game

attaching it to a specific legend and how boring the playstyle is has caused me to stop play sessions early multiple times out of frustration. I just want to play the legends I actually like.

absolutely a bit of a vent post, but whoever decided it was funny to make each legend have a higher amount of ring closings survived challenges needed, I do not not appreciate your decision.

I play this game all the time, I give you my money, and you hand me tedious, unfun * like this? Annoying af.

You do know that you do not have to do the challenges.

I have done 0 of the character based challenges this season.

I chose to play the Legend/s that I like and just enjoy the game.

  • The reward for finishing the challenges is unlocking that specific character, so I don't think it's really a bad thing to have these legend-specific tasks.

They introduce the legend to players, allowing them to get some knowledge of the abilities and playstyle.

Of course there also is the Flatline reward, but there also are specific rewards for each challenge.

The Flatline reward is more of an extra IMO, these challenges were most likely not designed with that specifically in mind.

Those challenges were made with the legends that they unlock in mind, not with the final challenge.

Yes it will be a grind to do all of them, it's kind of the point to keep players busy, so these challenges shouldn't be all that bad.

The ring closing challenge is more of a passive challenge, you should not need to have to hide and play super passively to get it, it's something you accumulate in the background.

Assuming you get 2 ring closings per game, for 25 total closings you'd need 13 matches in total.

For a total week, you'd just need to play 2 matches per day playing that specific legend.

Can of course deviate here and there, as per some matches you can get more or less.

I do understand that it can be boring to have to play the same legend over and over again, but it's not a challenge you have to instantly complete.

With 2 games per day for 2 ring closings per day, you'd lose around 20 minutes per day playing that specific character.

Yes, some players may not have a lot of time available, but I don't think 20 minutes per day for 7 days is too bad for a challenge.

Overall, the issue with these challenges is that players try to complete them ASAP, which in this case won't really be that fun.

Of course there is the fact that you are not forced to play the challenges, but it is good to have feedback on some challenges.

I've heard some other complaints about these challenges as well, but every person that complained (from what I have observed) was trying to complete them ASAP, which wasn't really helping them.

I know no one is forced to do the challenges, but since everyone is doing them I'm going to go ahead and agree that this challenge design is a bad idea. And I'll tell you how I know. Because as Valk main who almost never has to play any other legend, now suddenly for the sake of everyone else's grind I can hardly ever get her. It seems to make you cranky to have to play someone you don't want to play, and I can tell you it certainly makes me cranky to NOT be able to play someone I want to play.

    Just a bad idea, Respawn.
