MM makes no sense, rank resets shouldn't be a thing for the top 1% of skilled players. every game is a gamble if your teammates know what the buttons even do. Yet, every enemy is dropping 4k damage. What's the point of a ranked system if hitting the mid ranks becomes an exponential curve in skill and randomness.
Well, it's a truism that climbing the ranks isn't supposed to be easy.
But, as you said, there's hard and then there's hitting a brick wall at 75 mph. And that's what it feels like right now except that I thought the wall would be at a some point much farther down the road. Instead, like you say, it's a crapfest in gold. And strangely enough, it's a crapfest in unranked too, which hasn't been that bad for a while. Sure is now though. And the last refuge for the uncompetitive player, bot royale, has turned into a competitive dumpster fire as well. The first week was fun. By the second week everyone else on your team is a hyper-aggressive one man demolition team. By week two you start seeing enemy squads of live players. At that point there really is no purpose in playing the mode anymore.
I guess it's a series of missteps of mode design capped off with some of the worst matchmaking ever... that's led to a genuinely appalling season. I can't think of one good thing to say about it.
