New Legend Concept "CRAFTER"

Hello everyone! I will introduce you to my concepts and ideas for a new Legend in Apex Legends!
Leave your feedback and suggestions down in the comments ~
Now, grab a snack and some water because this will take some time haha 😳

"Nothing is created, everything is copied ... or duplicated !!"
"Nothing should be discarded, there is potential in everything ... even in failure."

CRAFTER
Tactical Looter

Crafter is a robotics scientist who created his robots for the purpose of creating and replicating resources for those in need. After joining the Apex games, he began using his robots to track down and find loot more easily, hoping he could take his technology forward to find and duplicate materials that many communities need.

Real name: Matheus Carvalho
Codename: Crafter
Age: 45
Homeworld: Confidential

Backstory: Matheus was born into a poor family, victims of the Frontier War. He lived a great deal of his life in misery, but always dreaming of becoming a great scientist and researcher of robotics, in which he would create robots to aid the lives of those in need. His family knew of his potential and gave what little they had for him to have a good education and to graduate in the desired career. Years after his studies, Matheus landed a job at Humbert Labs as a researcher and creator of mass-production robots and pollinators, increasing agricultural productivity exponentially. His robots detected and tracked pollen, and could duplicate them. Matheus met other scientists there, including his wife, Amelia, living the life he dreamed so much of.

However, this laboratory was also the scene of the "Nox" incident, an explosion of toxic gas that destroyed the labs. This incident killed Matheus's wife, who was not present at the moment (he was doing field research to improve his robots), leaving him completely shaken, not knowing who was responsible (supposedly dead) but he still wanted revenge. He programmed his drones to track down traces of the gas, which led to the Apex Games, where the criminal could be alive there.

Matheus decided to join the games, using the excuse that he wanted money to do his research of duplication and mass creation for the ones in need, as he experienced it, but deep down he just wanted to find the person responsible for his wife's death, and give an end to it once and for all.

There's his design. I wish I had more time to make it, but I kinda had to rush things, so there's that XD

His drones are cute little bees~~ because the bees are the 'nature builders', heads up for my friend that gave me the idea!!

Now for the interesting part: the abilities!!!

Class: A Support and Tracker (same class as BloodHound) Hybrid
Tactical Ability: Index (cooldown: 40s)
Passive Ability: Recognition
Ultimate: Duplicate

Let me translate the Abilities for a sec:
Passive: RECOGNITION, Your Drones reveal in a 20-meter area the rarity of the loot, in an icon, even through walls.
Tactical Ability: INDEX, Use your device to open an index of all the items and asks for one of your drones to search and ping it, if found, in a 60-meter area.
Ultimate: DUPLICATA, Use your drones to duplicate an item from your inventory up to two times.

I will explain the abilities in more detail and how I imagine they would work in-game

Passive: His Drones would be flying around him, detecting the loot, in an area of 20 meters. In order not to pollute the screen, the item would appear as an icon, the same as the Ping system, showing the rarity color of the item. Ex: there is a blue backpack on top of the building, the Crafter would see a small blue icon and when the player placed the cursor on the icon, it would appear that it is a rare backpack, and he could ping it at a distance, without having to approach to do so.

An image showing how the loot icons would look like

This would make looting more practical and easy for him, especially if someone says he needs an item
For example, your ally says that "I need light ammo", the drones will continue to track items normally, but when they find a light ammo, the item icon would blink like the Ping icon when someone says "let's explore this place". Crafter could ping this ammo from a distance, plus he can ping an item he needs himself and those principles will be the same.

Tactical ability: He would open the Index, the device in his left arm, which would show a sort of index, or list, of all items in the game. He would mark any item, per say a weapon, and a drone would search a 60-meter area for the item, and mark it when it found some

Quite simple, there isn't much more to explain. By the way, if he asks for an item and this item simply disappears from the map, indicating that someone picked it up, it could end up unintentionally tracking enemies, so it's another way of scanning the area for possible enemies 🤔 🤔

Ultimate: He would use his Index to open the Inventory and indicate some item for his drones to duplicate. Note that the item needs to be in your inventory, that is, if you have an ally with the legendary helmet, and want to duplicate for the whole team to use their skills quickly (adding an unprecedented advantage!), The ally would need to drop the item for Crafter to pick up and then duplicate. For the greater effectiveness of his supreme, it takes a little more communication, kind of saying you can duplicate an item and if your allies have an item of value (it's not a requirement, but would be much better for everyone). The duplication process is extremely slow, and is likely to be the supreme with the longest reloading time, exceeding Lifeline's for balancing reasons, and it can be disrupted by enemies and Crafter himself can interrupt it. But if it interrupts, it will only lose 50% of the supreme charge, so it does not take another eternity for it to duplicate an item xD
Oh, note that if the duplicate item is ammo, the ammo will come in 6 full packs, like the ones on the map. Consumable items (shield battery, etc.) will also be duplicated up to six times, to make up for the fact that items are consumed very quickly.

Then that's it! If you have read this far, take this cookie as a thanks! ~hands the cookie~ 🙌

  • Hi! I was looking through your whole concept(I think) and I got stuff to comment on:

1)His passive is AMAZING!(in a good way) It would revolutionize the gameplay.

2)His skills are pretty mundane in my own opinion. His tactical seems like it takes a long time find a weapon in the index and may be cause a new play to stall in the open and find the weapon they want to search for

3)His ultimate is ok overall but I don't see the importance of duplicating a weapon. As it is a DUPLICATE and you would have only two and you have three in a team.

  • Hello, thanks for the feedback!!^^

His ability is supposed to be used when you really need to find an item, for example you can't find any shield batteries, you would use it to try and find it without risking yourself out there (even though the drones may reveal your location, so it's very tricky to use). It would take a long time so the player won't keep spamming it, much like it takes some time to use BloodHound's tactical ability.

Well the index is supposed to be very simple to find the stuff you're looking for. You open it, search for the "weapons" slot and then press on the type of weapon you need, for example a Shotgun, and the drones will start looking for it.

Duplicating a weapon may be not all important, but a epic body shield sure is! If he could duplicate for the whole team it would make the ultimate pretty much broken and op, something not so desired, so its quite limited for balancing purposes.

I'm new to this site and I would want to share my legend concepts too! You have actually shown me what to do,Thanks!

  • Well, I will be very glad to see your concepts! Just write what are your ideas, anything to make clear how this character would be like

As for the abilities, I used the general design of the abilities screen on the characters in game, when you look at the menu

I mostly changed the icons from his abilities and the colors, I tried to make them as similar as the ones in game. I used Adobe Photoshop to the the artwork

  • Great idea! I think Crafter would fit right in with the whole game play of apex. Really cool concept design too.
