I like it. You're not supposed to just shrug it off if you get stuck in the ring. It's always clearly broadcasted where the ring is going to be and how much time you have, so plan accordingly. If you get stuck in it, it's on you. Battle is no excuse, you can run away and let the enemies be swallowed by the ring behind you.

But then they’ll end up looting everything because you ran away, and since you’re not attacking them they’ll most likely make it out of the ring, geared up, and you with nothing because you were too busy ruining away. Firefights are inevitable, you can’t always control where they happen, and a lot of times they happen outside the ring

If someone engages you and drags you into an engagement with the ring impending - you're dead even if you win the fight. That's fact.
