Could matchmaking be the root cause of these issues?
In Gun Game, the content's unpopularity frequently leads to reports of bot appearances. In Mixtape, one-sided games result in noticeable abandonment and match-dropping.
If that is true, while the developers may have prioritized matching speed, was it not matchmaking quality that they should have truly obsessed over?

Yes, matchmaking and the number of cheaters.
Why should I play with people who are level 100 and don't even have a 2,000 damage badge when I'm being demolished by a 3-stack with 4k/20, and sometimes 50k kills on a single character?
If I ever see a champion like that or a team that has killed me, I simply leave and have that right. Matchmaking doesn't exist in this game, and because of that, the cheaters have a higher K/D because they play in bronze lobbies where they shouldn't be.
I'll say it again – people are leaving games and will continue to do so more and more often until matchmaking is ACTUALLY based on the approximate skill of each player in the lobby.
Oh yeah, we have a population three to four times smaller in this game than during peak times, so EA and Respawn will say it's IMPOSSIBLE. So it's only going to get worse.
