Ping Spam/Abuse

I've made several posts about this issue for years. Here I go again, for the last time.
The ping system is great, but most players don't use the ping wheel to communicate correctly. Additionally, ping spamming contributes to audio clutter. For example, my teammate gets knocked and spams ping making it harder to hear enemies because of the ping sound and character voice lines.
Most games I mute pings which prevents being able to see the "visual pings". I play Crypto sometimes and I used to have a hard time finding my teammates banner because their deathbox wasn't visible when muting pings. I was so glad when the devs fixed this issue. Now if I mute pings I can find my teammates banner easily without disrupting my gameplay. More changes are still needed to promote a "relaxed" gaming experience. Also, when I mute pings sometimes I'll pick up an item not realizing my teammate called dibs. This results in my teammates hitting and shooting at me until I drop the specified item.
Muting pings is an option in the game, so I use it. Although, muting the ping sound shouldn't disable the entire ping system. I should still be able to see the "visual ping".
Years ago, players in the community decided that the best solution is to add a "Ping Volume Slider" to have more control over the sound. Personally, I don't want to hear the ping sound and the accompanying character voice line. It contributes to unnecessary audio clutter and frantic gameplay.
FYI - Sometimes I mute everything: music, pings, character voice lines. When muting character voice lines, it prevents being able to hear your own character. Just add a volume slider for pings and give players an option to mute other players character voice lines without muting their own. Simple QOL stuff.
