Investigate this problem. All the jet packs should be boosting at the same rate from drop, if you drop out of the ship first and a team drops after you, you should get to destination first, but recently players have boosted past teams like the are using NOS in their boosters.
Yes I've seen this too.
Some are Mirage.
Others, for a while, I though were solo players who had their other 2 teammate DC, so the system allowed them to drop faster (giving them a slightly better chance to find loot before facing the inevitable 1v3s.
But a few, don't make sense, the trajectory is the same as mine, and yet they see to speed up when I have a stable 135-150 speed...
And I am THE Jumpmaster of my squad..for a reason.
There are different tactics to be able to drop faster.
I use the wave that allows me to fly further and drop faster then regular gliding.
Try some thing out, the momentum when dropping is really fun play with.
It's just something you have to live with.... it's been over 2 months and they have yet to fix audio bugs and lag. I don't think they really care at respawn on fixing anything. Basically when you jump out of the ship especially on a hot drop where multiple teams are jumping ay the same time some players will be pushed up some pushed down. Almost the same effect as being punched. You can really see the effects if your solo and collide with someone in the air and how it moves you... this is why people are getting in front of you faster because they were forced down.
