@redsunschan I did some "quick" research and found this device is already a banned device by Sony for the PS5. I watched a rich boy gamer on YouTube bypass the Sony ban using a secondary controller and some USB hookups. The method to get this device banned from Apex would be to contact EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat) and report it to them. Assuming EAC can identify this device in use, then the XIM controllers people bought become pointless overnight. However most of those people who can afford the controller will just bypass the detection using hardware hacks.
This device is the next generation of cheating. The software driver is about the only way to detect the usage, and the biggest struggle will be getting Microsoft XBox and EAC on board with the bans. As I said, Sony has this controller already on their cheat list. Once EAC adds this device, it will then be optional for EA and Respawn to include it as well.
I am not one for the, "If you can't beat them, join them." and buying the XIM + another compatible controller to run a bypass is going to cost people. This is NOT a hardware device everyone can afford, it gives the user an unfair advantage, and thus an obvious cheat.
The XIM webpage has a promo video showing it used on Apex. I would like to ask the EA legal department, did they get permission for using your IP? I doubt it... Sick'em lawyers!
- 3 years ago@Xubunnytwo The sad truth is that ea does tolerate xim Cronus etc.
- 3 years ago@matzesingt I figured as much, they have to keep those rich boys happy, since they have more money to throw at the game.
