This is not a conversation as to whether or not aim assist is a disadvantage. It is clear that it is not. I have posted many clips and shown many clips where it is not "aiming for us."
I play controller on PC, and my favorite interaction goes as such:
I was playing with another PC player in arenas, they picked the L-Star, and said "Man this thing lasers", I replied "Yeah right its got a lot of recoil at range", they replied "Aren't you on K&M", to which I said "No I used controller, I can't use K&M I suck too much. Too many buttons to think about", so CLEARLY there is an advantage in accuracy to using K&M. As well as other advantages. Aim assist in my experiences has typically gotten in the way of things due to having to lead your shots, aim assist wants to keep my target over them, when I am trying to pull in front of them.
All in all - I have been in a million conversations where people try to argue aim assist is "op" when in reality, it is not. It mostly comes down to K&M players being upset there is a player that is good with a controller.
I am no longer going to touch on this topic anymore in this thread, I wish everyone else here do the same.

This idea of having an aim slow down is turning off "aim assist" as you know it. It doesn't track or anything, it simply adjusts the sensitivity on the fly. Other FPS games have this and I love it (IE, BO, COD, WARZONE, etc)
This change wouldn't give any advantage to the controller user other than a refined sensitivity around the enemy to enable granular adjustments without moving all over the place
