Premade rank restrictions vs. Players I'm paired with and against

Simple: If I can't queue for ranked with people that are two tiers (OR MORE) below/above my rank, I sure as hell shouldn't be paired with or against players with similar rank differences. Why can't I queue with friends in silver when I'm in Platinum, when the game shoves bronze ranked players to my squad when I'm in Diamond. Inconsistent as hell.
