Prevent Spawn Camping in Control [Game Mode]
My friends and I love to play control as it adds an element to the game it has been missing the whole time (in our opinion).
Unfortunately some people make it hard to enjoy. Spawn camping has become a big issue lately not just for us.
We saw lots of in game messages regarding how frustrating it is. 7 out of 10 games end with 2 to 3 people using long distant weapons from
high ground and the rest of the enemy team lurging around the start base.
We brainstormed and came up with 3 suggestions on how to improve the situation:
1. When all control zones are in enemy control (A, B, C) for more than 20 seconds, a shield dome appears around the start base which protects the players respawning there.
Enemies can not enter the dome and enemies already inside the dome cannot cause damage anymore. The Dome stays up until one control zone has been secured
+45 seconds.
2. When the game notices a large amount of enemies or shots nearby the start base, instead of respawning there, players can now air drop from high altitude to land
anywhere on the map. This would lead the enemies to retreat to secure their control zones or prevent spawn camping from the beginning. Also it would add a little difficulty to
the game so a final victory will be a little harder to achive and breaks up enemy strategies as it adds an element of randomness.
3. To prevent being shot from long distance at all it would be interesting to either have fog or a dome around the start base which blurs vision if you are further away then 75 meters and keeps getting less sharp potential to the distance to the start base.
We hope the devolper will come up with at solution because spawn camping really is draining the fun of the game mode.
