Proposed "Death Point (DP)" System for Apex Legends Ranked

I want to talk about Ranked mode. I've observed that the current Ranked system often leads to significant player frustration, particularly concerning unjust RP losses from early deaths and instances of players abandoning their teammates. These issues disproportionately affect solo players.
To address these challenges and foster a more healthy and fair Ranked experience for everyone, I propose the introduction of a "Death Point (DP) System".
Overview: The Death Point (DP) System
The DP system aims to introduce a penalty for early deaths, thereby emphasizing survival and team cohesion.
1.Negative RP for Death
・When a player dies , they will incur a negative RP penalty based on the current ring round (zone closure phase).
・Dying in earlier rounds will result in a larger negative RP penalty.
Example: Death in Round 1: -26 RP
Example: Death in Round 2: -13 RP
Example: Death in Round 3 or later: 0 RP
・This negative RP will not be removed even if the player is subsequently respawned. This ensures individual accountability for early elimination.
2.Shared Responsibility for Teammate Death (for surviving members)
・If a teammate dies, surviving teammates will also incur a smaller DP penalty, reflecting a shared responsibility for the team's early collapse.
・This aims to deter players from abandoning teammates and to encourage cohesive team play.
・Example: Teammate dies in Round 1 (for survivors): -10 RP
・Example: Teammate dies in Round 2 (for survivors): -5 RP
・Example: Teammate dies in Round 3 or later (for survivors): 0 RP
・The DP penalty will apply based solely on the round of death; there will be no additional modifiers for the specific actions leading to death (e.g., covering a teammate). The existing Assist Point system already accounts for such contributions.
3.Revive Bonus
・Consider implementing a bonus for successfully reviving a downed teammate. This bonus could be similar to existing Kill Point assist values. This would positively incentivize players to actively save their teammates and prevent team eliminations.
Expected Positive Impacts
Implementing this DP system is expected to bring several improvements to the Ranked experience:
・Reduction in Early Deaths: The substantial DP penalty in Round 1 will strongly deter reckless hot drops and isolated looting, encouraging teams to adopt more cautious and coordinated early-game strategies.
・Enhanced Team Cohesion and Support: With clear shared responsibility for teammate deaths, players will be more mindful of each other's survival. Abandoning teammates will become a costly action, fostering stronger teamwork.
・Improved Ranked Quality and Stable RP Gains: By reducing early team wipes, matches will consistently progress further into the game. This minimizes wasted RP from short matches and allows players to more efficiently accumulate RP through sustained play.
・Deeper Strategic Gameplay: Players will shift from solely focusing on kills to prioritizing "how to survive as a team." This adds a new layer of strategic depth, further enriching gameplay.
Conclusion
The proposed DP system is a concrete and implementable solution that can directly address the core issues of RP inequity and frustration within the current Ranked mode, without drastically overhauling existing mechanics. I believe this system has the potential to make Apex Legends' Ranked experience more fair, more rewarding for teamwork, and ultimately, more enjoyable for all players.
