PS5 DualSense Edge Controller not recognised

I'm on PC and am using the EA app for Windows.

I have recently purchased a PS5 Edge Controller, and Apex Legends seemingly doesn't recognise it as an input device. My brother says this also occurs on Steam, but Steam has a workaround where you can default to a sort of 'Steam Controller'. This apparently causes the inputs in game to display as Xbox inputs, but it still works otherwise.

Does a workaround like this exist on the EA app, will a fix or similar feature be coming soon, or should I simply give up, uninstall and re-install on Steam?

Seems really stupid this is an issue as I'm pretty sure the controller has been out for +6 months now! Also, I'm not buying another controller as this one was expensive enough! Plus, it's really nice and seems to work for everything else I play!
