There needs to be a quit punishment of some kind in this game, or a reward for people who stay in the game. I've had so many games where teammates quit in all sorts of times during a match. Just this last game, we dropped in the pit, our Bangalore took a gun, our Bloodhound wanted that gun, got REALLY upset, then quit. Because he didn't get the gun he wanted. Right at the beginning.
This seems to be the go to argument for people that leave games: "What if it is something I can't control?" As if the general population were constantly dealing with the issue of having their gaming machine teleported into another dimension for a few minutes. I refuse to think that you can't do something about it. If powercuts are happening almost daily for you, then don't you think taking care of that would take precedent over a game? Talk to your city council? Get the attention of your mayor? Get an electrician to help you out?
Your other reason for leaving is EXACTLY why there needs to be a punishment for quitters. A punishment for you, quitter. What if someone uses that excuse against you? Would you say "Yeah I understand why he quit, I'm not reliable?" I don't think so. I think the real reason why you leave is you don't want to wait, or you don't want to respan with nothing. Otherwise, why wait until you are downed to leave? If you really think you can't rely on your teammates, why not just leave immediately?
Either way, thank you for serving as an example to my point.
I don't stick around...I leave right after selection if my team....

Another reason to leave is, after a while of playing you get enough experience to tell when your 'teammates' are worth relying on or not, so if I get downed and think I can't count on them I just leave and join another match
LoL actually bans people for quitting. I've always considered it another form of cheating.
But until apex adds skill rated match maker queue I'm quitting all the time too.... Too many noobs, trolls that I'd quit the game if forced to play with them. Never seen nothing like it in 20 years.
Often people quit when they see a speedhacker fly down to the ground or when one of the players in the squad is an adbot. They should not be punished for that.
There already is a punishment for quitting, it's called zero exp. Doesn't matter if they quit at 17 minutes they aren't getting any exp. This is how it should be if people are downed or can be respawned. When the respawn times out though and that person leaves there should be no punishment for that.

noone even notices that or cares. LoL warns for quitting the first time you quit, gives timeouts, and actually bans habitual quitters.
But again unless there is some ranked skill matching mode, I don't think players should be penalized for quitting.

This doesn't make sense to me. I have a feeling this is why there is so many toxic players in this game. They feel thats what BR is for, being toxic, its something to disrespect. Its nothing to take serious. They tell themselves anyone can win if they just hide in the corner, but yet can't prove it.....lol
I find this fascinating and baffling.
I really think it just comes down to selfish entitlement and short attention spans.
