Ever watch the euros playing the apex pro discord scrims? When you are matched up with people going for the win at your level, Hot dropping or running and gunning for kills is not a practical playstyle, Neither is camping in the same spot whole match. You really have to adapt your playstyle depending on the match and RNG you get.
No one that plays or played in top tier teams cares about kd/r. Its the casuals that get hyped about it.
Since most people playing ranked actually want to improve, they would want equally good enemys.
Instead of using kd/r simply put in a elo system like in any good gome.
Or if it has to be kd/r, mix it up with placement/wins.
I would prefer a simple elo system however. Its easy to script and less of a pain to follow.
