Re: Apex simply too difficult?

Smurfing is the only way to have fun in this game, I play until like level 20 and destroy noobs then I make a new account and repeat. Sometimes I play on my main account but the games suck, the whole lobby is full of triple stacking 20 kill badge players and everyone is dead within 2 minutes. I don't feel bad and im not going to stop and here's why: If I have to choose between getting destroyed by stacked duos/trios that are cracked at the game with my two bot teammates or destroying bots the choice is simple. Also every lobby has like at least 5 smurfs so there's always 1 or 2 tougher fights but at least they are managable and I don't get destroyed. Up to Respawn to fix their broken SBMM algorithm if they want to control smurfing but they don't want to fix it since it looks good for the stats with all those "new" accounts.

Reached my Diamond 4 today and all I can say about the difficulty in this game is:

    • EU servers are proving to be more competitive than NA (haven't played other regions)
    • Evening / night time is again more competitive as probably younger players who might lack focus, attention to details, overall skill go to sleep
    • Lobbies till Platinum 4 even at the beginning of the season were to be honest easy - reached P4 in like 2-3 days of playing
    • Will see about Diamond lobbies - have not heard much good about them

What makes this experience bad in ranked:

    1. Hackers
    2. Hackers
    3. Hackers
    4. Hackers
    5. Matchmaking to a certain extent reading and seeing how it works - feeding good players worse ones especially in higher ranked lobbies
    6. Smurfing players who has exactly the mindset like @bananarepublic94 just posted - they can't be competitive or stuck at level X, instead, they just keep destroying people who are so much worse than them and somehow enjoy that process...I honestly think those are people with a mindset of wife-beaters and alike, sad story. Today also played with a guy who was level 24, Platinum 4, 4k 20 badge of course, admitted he is smurffing (reason was "because all pros and streamers do, why wouldn't I", he finished the game clearning up lobby pretty much running on his own = 0 teamwork, our team was just 1 v 1 v 1 vs all, still he got 10+4 and almost 3k damage IN RANKED! but I suspect him for wallhacking and he was clearly using no recoil script = that sums up the people who are smurffing to me...sad sad story
    7. Inability to communicate and teamwork - people focus on their gain not team, maybe because they know that in 99% of a cases they will play at most 5 games with the same people and move on, again sad story
    8. Inability to evaluate skill level and play accordingly - e.g. today on Platinum level I got ex-Master players (recent), one was P3, I was P1, third was G3. They just won a game and we teamed up. They were acting like Masters usually do = let's hotdrop, we own everyone, it is just Platinum/Gold lobbies... we lost next 4 games with almost max negative RP every game, eventually gained some points and finished even 2nd after I shouted at them not to hodrop and play smart, did most of the calls. All in all I lost ~100 RP while playing with them
    9. Different Goals - many people seem to play ranked for no reason or weird ones like just to gain a badge or trail. They clearly don't care about teamwork, placement, creating a bond with players, mostly just play silently, get max KP and move on or just remain at protection level and "have fun" / not try doing their best

Is game difficult - no, not really. Community is... ☹️

@EREGDS did you really just compare my mentality using an alt account in a F2P game to that of a wife-beater? Are you completely * insane? I make a statement about A GAME(!!!) and you somehow connect that to having the mentality of a wife-beater? Please explain that analogy further, im really interested in your thought process. Because I use a method to play against worse opponents I take that to real life and take out my sad, miserable life on my wife? I think it's your mindset that's pretty messed up there buddy.

If you haven't noticed there's thousands of posts about how bad the SBMM is, it's not just me and im just tired of carrying two bad players fighting a rigged match. My K/D is 2.7 on my main account and I also reach diamond solo queue every season but it's a long and miserable process. Take your * somewhere else and don't slander people.

@bananarepublic94 he has a real point. You're not mentally tough enough to play against other people of a similar skill level, or even in unfair lobbies where there are three stacks and better players, so you want to ruin the experience of new players instead. You're potentially driving people from the game and making others feel worse about their abilities when they are brand new to Apex. If the cap fits you have to wear it rather than get upset when someone calls you out for making the game worse for everyone.

@SelfNonSelf yeah my bad, I should just accept being called a wife-beater (LOL) for having an opinion about a game. I should just accept that im free KP for triple stacking diamond/master players in pubs what am I thinking... Im very competitive that's why I write so passionately here but it's one thing to have tough lobbies and it's another to have completely unbalanced squads where you don't stand a chance. Tell me how me getting two below average players unable to keep up against a premade diamond/master trio with good aim and game sense is competitive? It's a massacre over and over and fun for no one else other than that trio. Even if you down one or two your teammates wont capitalize on it 9/10 times. It's the exact same situation as you described only im on the receiving end feeling like I suck and possibly wanting to quit. But since you don't understand you're probably butthurt because you are one of those triple stackers thinking it's all fair and that you guys are just the best in the game.

@bananarepublic94  Sure you're competitive...I totally got that from your earlier statement - "I play until like level 20 and destroy noobs then I make a new account and repeat." You're the literal definition of the word....imagine being good at the game (as you seem to think you are) and then just killing new players who don't know the game at all. You have a fighting chance against other players, they don't against you. You're part of the problem...

@bananarepublic94 my analogy explained in short - what is a common trait of a wife-beater and smurffer in Apex = willingness and excitement/pleasure from dominating a weaker opponent.

Hope that makes sense to you now when translated.

As for SBMM and K/D ratio I would suggest you to read on it a bit a more and actually look at the facts e.g. take into account that the best player say in CS go in a recent tournament in Sweden achieved K/D ratio of 1.5 something something which is viewed as godlike...now think about yours 2.7...

My K/D started at 0.4 and now is at most 0.7 and I just reached Diamond 4 without too much hustle especially when playing on NA server, EU was/is a bit harder no doubt. K/D is not something that indicates how good you are as a player nor how successful are you in ranked mode because you can have a low k/d game and still gain RP and vice versa.

Again do some more detailed analysis, complain a bit less, think about your values and what harm are you doing when smurffing to the community, less skilled players and come again.

@SelfNonSelf amen. Surfers are the worst in that sense = they are not challenging themselves and in turn not becoming better as players that eventually leads to cheating, complaining how hard the game is, etc. while dominating over lower skill players and driving them away from the game => lose/lose situation.

@bananarepublic94 if you keep losing vs better players or stacked teams you should kind of get a point what helps winning in this game =>

    a) become a more skilled player - tactics, mechanics, game knowledge
    b) get a team you play with on regular basis

How hard is it to understand that?! Even Michael Jordan needed a team and could not win games on his own yet somehow you demand Apex to tailor your needs and give you all the Aces... somehow I see you complaining about SBMM yet demanding it to tailor to your needs which in turn would make it crucked... make up your mind boy!
