Fire at the trap's base. Not the balloon part, the little metallic disk part. That'll destroy the trap instantly.

Play some Caustic and you'll realize his abilities are weak as * against enemies who know that. He's "balanced" (other than the fact that his huge hitbox makes him die twice as fast as wraith).
