@Palette24caratswe are talking here about whether cross-play is needed.
Your first argument for it was that all pro players are on PC assumingly M&K = which neither is true.
Now your argument is about skill level and who plays who = again not quite relevant or correct. As far as I know, am reading info on forums, as soon as you have at least one PC player on the team there is a high chance that other 1 or 2 party members who are console will be dragged into PC lobbies, not vice versa. So the assumption that Nr.1 Pred is mainly playing vs other console players is a stretch, can't find his stream right now but I would assume that unless he is playing with a set party of console players, he actually might get into PC lobbies as well give above said is true.
Yet all in all we return to my previous statement - if console players are playing vs mainly console players if no-one likes aimbots which are partly there because in-game logic of aim assist for controllers if the only positive out of cross-play is playing with friends who have PC/Console...why cross-play is a default setting/present in the game?
On the one hand, Apex is tailoring to the majority - most like badges, most like a non-competitive style of play, etc. Yet most don't like the above-mentioned things, do not really benefit from them, or benefits outway drawbacks aka no crossplay, lower risk of aimbotting at least in PC lobbies...yet this is tailored to what seems to be minority interests.
Make cross-play optional:
- people who want to play with friends will have such an option
- define clear rules regarding who gets into which lobbies and in what team composition
- let people choose do they want to wait longer to get into one or other type of lobbies and use/not use cross-play option
Problem solved, no questions asked...yet that is still not the case and there are ongoing complaints and battles regarding opinions how good/bad Aim assist or console players are.
