Re: Cross play was a mistake

@EREGDSThe point is all of you have conversations about things you have no clue about, you make amalgams, use your judgment on things you think are true but are not.
For example you mention the fact that the #1 pred is a ps4 on controller; well he plays 100% of the time against controllers with aim assist on CONSOLES. What's the point? The only point I can make out of this is : console players are trash and offer not as much of a challenge as pc players EVEN with aim assist!!!
How about that??

Still wanna blame console players of being better when all the facts points that they have poor aim on a small stick AND bad movement?

@Palette24caratswe are talking here about whether cross-play is needed.

Your first argument for it was that all pro players are on PC assumingly M&K = which neither is true.

Now your argument is about skill level and who plays who = again not quite relevant or correct. As far as I know, am reading info on forums, as soon as you have at least one PC player on the team there is a high chance that other 1 or 2 party members who are console will be dragged into PC lobbies, not vice versa. So the assumption that Nr.1 Pred is mainly playing vs other console players is a stretch, can't find his stream right now but I would assume that unless he is playing with a set party of console players, he actually might get into PC lobbies as well give above said is true.

Yet all in all we return to my previous statement - if console players are playing vs mainly console players if no-one likes aimbots which are partly there because in-game logic of aim assist for controllers if the only positive out of cross-play is playing with friends who have PC/Console...why cross-play is a default setting/present in the game?

On the one hand, Apex is tailoring to the majority - most like badges, most like a non-competitive style of play, etc. Yet most don't like the above-mentioned things, do not really benefit from them, or benefits outway drawbacks aka no crossplay, lower risk of aimbotting at least in PC lobbies...yet this is tailored to what seems to be minority interests.

    Make cross-play optional:

    - people who want to play with friends will have such an option

    - define clear rules regarding who gets into which lobbies and in what team composition

    - let people choose do they want to wait longer to get into one or other type of lobbies and use/not use cross-play option

Problem solved, no questions asked...yet that is still not the case and there are ongoing complaints and battles regarding opinions how good/bad Aim assist or console players are.

  • @EREGDS I agree, players should have the option of matchmaking with controller-only players and vice-versa.

@EREGDS I dont have time to answer this lenghty post but yes I will say I watch everyday the #1 pred on playstation and he only plays with consoles against consoles. Playing against PC would ruin his games the level is higher on pc

@Palette24caratsSeason 10 if not mistaken Keon was teaming up with Hiswatson and one more dude and regularly playing PC lobbies for sure, still dominated the game and they were nr1 and nr2 Pred.
Go figure how this all links to cross-play... :D

@EREGDS I just took a look at Keon and you are right he has 2 pc teammates... because he is a PC player on controller !! He has 192 fps right now. See it always ends up you guys anti-controller anti-crossplay anti-aimassist imaging things to be true that arent.

@Palette24caratsdude, you did not get it... My point was what is Cross-play:
    - do we enable people on a console to play with and vs people on PC aka friendship point
    - do we enable players who use consoles to play with and vs M&K players
    - do we enable faster matchmaking via merging both pools of people
    etc.

My point was - Keon is on a PC+controller, his "friends" are on PC+M&K, he can't get into console lobbies YET console players if opting for it could (via having at least one PC player on their team). Probably also Keon could just switch to console and play as good, only drawback would be 60 FPS as his input mode would not change vs current one...

Again I am just losing the point of why there is cross play.

Want to play on controller = get PC+controller or console depending on your budget
Want to play on controller with players on M&K = get a PC
Want to play with Aim assist in lobbies with M&K players who don't have it = that's current cross-play.

Crossplay tailors crybabies who want to have best of both worlds, EA profits probably and profits of hack developers who exploit such in-game built logic to further develop hacks which otherwise might not be possible on PC side at least with M&K input.

Also an argument can be made that hey people don't have money to by PC...well in my country at least Xbox series X and PS5 cost as much as mid tier gaming PC, defintely one you can run Apex on with no problem. So ~800-1000 EUR for either and you are set.
Saving might come from console players already having displays at home yet those also are not free so we can't include monitor price as you can get either for the same price if you wish so that setup goes <1500 EUR all in.
Only argument that can be made here is input perriferals and its price - with console you already get controller, with PC in the mentioned range you probably will not get gaming keyboard and mouse. Yet difference there is ~100-200 EUR = 10-20% tops and then again argument can be made whether say G pro superlight or equivalent gives more advantage than best controller input wise... all in all price, money argument is not valid in my opinion in discussions about cross-play existence. And let's be honest if you have Xbox X, PS5 or gaming PC at home you are probably what's called middle class at least = not quite struggling finance wise.

So once again the question - why we have cross-play that introduces console/controller players in M&K lobbies and raises risks for aimbot presence as well as clear discussion about aim assist superiority in close range fights all while people who can afford console/controller can most probably afford a PC as well...

  • i really dont care about crossplay or aim assist but its kinda unfair that consoleplayers  have a higher aim assist then pc. ea announced next gen consoles will get 120fps later so its more than unfair. they need to reduce the aim assist to the same value than pc

  • Hey,

Nice post. You are wrong and you need to get over it.
