Re: Crypto's Drone Pull-out changed to a Throw (Sort of like R6S's throw)

@Forgotten_Frank1  When I said throw, I didn't mean like an actual throw since the drone catches itself in mid-air. Maybe holding L1 could increase the distance that the drone can go before catching itself? I didn't really think about the drone actually being thrown off into the distance. My idea was more of a let the drone go while you run into cover and then take control of it afterwards instead of it following you and then immediately putting u in control of it. But the general throwing idea could be nice too once implemented well.

  • @TezukaLycon When you throw the drone you have a few seconds to move while it is activating. Also as soon as you take control of the drone quickly press your tactical button again to take control of crypto and get in to cover. However, it’s probably sometimes better to get in to cover before using your drone.

I want to throw it in the air somewhere so I can scout ahead. I also want to throw it nearby a banner display so I see how many hostile squads are in  the area.

That's not quite it though. The drone is a semi-standalone entity. Yes it relies on being within a certain distance of Crypto but it shouldn't be bound to Crypto's body as its activating. Plus it shouldn't be mandatory for Crypto to immediately take control of his drone. Presently, the mechanic is restrictive and stifling at best. I'm just putting out a suggestion; whether it's taken literally or not doesn't matter to me much once its the suggestion is out there.

  • @TezukaLycon I respect your opinion but I personally think it works great the way it is. I am now a crypto main and I love him the way he is. I really hope he doesn’t get nerfed because he is really fun the way he is.

@PJBurrows1991 I also like to main Crypto and I can guarantee that you would love him alot more if his pull-out was changed to a throw. Imagine throwing out ur drone past a building so that the drone spots enemies pushing towards that building without u having to do anything else.

If anything it just expands the possibilities that you can have on the battlefield. Unlimited potential.

  • @TezukaLycon I suppose it would be more fun, but i think he is going to get a nerf. Giving him the ability to throw his drone is in a way a buff

@PJBurrows1991 Why do you think so? There's not much you could really do to nerf him besides take away the range that the drone spots people or decrease the damage/range of the EMP.

  • @TezukaLycon Mainly because the drone can continue to mark enemies where as bloodhound can only mark them for a few seconds. Yes I know the drone can be destroyed but it is still more useful than bloodhounds ability.

@PJBurrows1991 Well, in theory, it kind of cancels out. Bloodhound also scans enemies for a few secs and your entire team sees them. The few secs that the drone scans them unless the team is super busy in a fight, they will shoot/destroy the drone. When Crypto uses his drone, he's stuck in that position which leads to a 3 v 2 situation. Bloodhound uses his scan ability and can stay in the fight making it 3 v 3. Atm, it seems more like Bloodhound is close-range/combat stimulant solo fighter while Crypto is more of a long-range/aoe team support recon. They both have their pros/* and establish their presence in different ways.

  • @TezukaLycon I do understand where you are coming from cause I thought the same too. Just I’m not the best player in the world but even I do pretty good with crypto. Maybe he just fits to my play style.
