Combating Smurfing and Main Account Inactivity
To address the issues of smurfing, boosting, and account inactivity in ranked leagues, I propose the simultaneous implementation of three systems.
・Leap-frogging Bonus RP
Introduce a "Leap-frogging" mechanism to bonus RP. Using big data held by the developers, the system should identify outliers in K/D ratios and significant discrepancies between "individual damage" and "squad average damage." When these outliers are detected, substantial bonus RP is awarded to the individual.
If defining new statistical criteria is resource-intensive, the existing "Kill Point (KP) Cap" logic could be repurposed as the trigger for this leap-frogging bonus.
・Revised Rank Reward Conditions
Change the criteria for receiving rank rewards from "highest rank reached" to "final rank maintained" at the end of the season.
・Introduction of Rank Promotion Rescission
If a player fails to achieve either a specific number of matches played or a minimum amount of RP earned after being promoted, that promotion will be rescinded. This "rescission" is handled separately from standard demotions; it will not consume demotion protection, nor will it lower the player's internal MMR.
By implementing these three measures in tandem, highly skilled players can be swiftly isolated into their appropriate skill brackets, protecting beginners and intermediate players. Simultaneously, this ensures a healthy, active population in the higher tiers.
Could this be the key to drastically improving matchmaking precision and ensuring overall competitive fairness?
