@Yofeyu I've played since beta and still not one heirloom. They want us to blow $100+ to gamble for a chance to obtain them! The greed is at an imperial tier.

Heirlooms aren't a guaranteed thing until the five hundredth pack is opened. It doesn't matter if you've been level five hundred for so long, and you're not forced to buy the packs or the items when a a new Heirloom is released. The option is there. Heirlooms are so elusive because their meant to be, it's meant to be exciting the say you get literally the rarest item in the game. It can be obtained free if you collect free apex packs from the battle pass and season quest.
- @DK9027 It took 40 hours to grind the points to get Darth Vader when Battlefront 2 launched. They changed it for good reason. You saying the same deal here is ok? Spending ungodly amount of hours on a game that doesn't work and actively makes you want to quit? It's designed to funnel you into spending.
- @LetMeVsBots two separate games, two separate groups in charge to decide what happens with said games. I've been playing since week one, don't have many problems with the game "working", the only reason I've ever felt like quitting is due to teammates.
As a free to play game it needs to make its revenue somewhere. Again your not force to buy packs that is a decision purely of your own making. They're are other ways to get a skin tou want, or an heirloom. I've never spent money on packs and I should be getting an heirloom sometime in the future.
However I will admit that I'm not happy with their decisions in the upcoming anniversary. $160 for an evolving skin of which you can only see the gloves in game is madness. - @DK9027 A free to play game should make it's revenue by being a high trust platform, but instead we get gameplay loops that are designed to pull your attention just one more match, one more season. My issue isn't that it's free to play and it costs money, my issue is that this current system is incredibly predatory, nefarious and low trust.
- @LetMeVsBots Well the only real way to combat that is just don't spent your money if you feel it's not worth it plain and simple.
- @DK9027 The point being is it could be better. That's the issue. It is what it is, sure, but the criticism of any medium or system is optimization or quality. People don't like stuff simply because they exist. You're dismissing the entire argument for creativity. There's a reason gamers are becoming so jaded toward developers. You can explain away why things are till you're blue in the face but the point still stands that it could be better and that's why these forums exist.
Kinda hard to talk about greed in a totally free-to-play game where the only thing you may choose to pay for is to look pretty but doesnt affect the gameplay one bit. Or perhaps you think game devs in general should owe us players because we make the sacrifice to play their game against our will? There is nothing hidden in the loot box market.. We know exactly what we spend our money on. Sure; you can make a case about the immorality of companies taking advantage of weak-minded individuals and kids who cant control their impulses but I think people also have a personal responsibility in this.

Years later and still so hard to get. I got mine quick, when the 2nd one came out for bloodhound, i got it like that week. A character i dont play or care to play. So we just got the heirloom and no shards. Now there are so many options for heirlooms and heirlooms that are universal and even heirloom skins. I have 1500 hours into the game and got the one axe, i probably only used a couple times. They need to make a heirloom trade in for the people that started playing the game early, or have a one time thing where you can trade in for another. Now some of the packs dont count towards the 500. So you would have to buy 500 Apex packs to get one for sure, but they hand this stuff out to creators. Some creators have all of them, and i have talked to one of them in the game and they get thousands of EA coins for free each month to stay in style for the streams!!
