Re: How can we remove in-game advert notifications/banners?

@Astropithecus_93If you are so easily offended by a simple notification message that it disrupts your gameplay that much I suggest you go get your mental health checked because its as simple as closing it and you can continue playing the game, the little square in the corner dosnt hurt anything at all its not like its popping up after every single match because that would frustrate me too

the notifications are respawns only way to really communicate with players in game, its used for trailers, bundles, patch notes, events, and most recently that they support Black Lives Matter its not there for politics its there for communication

@FaIIenAngeI777 sorry to say it but it's pure politics. And by the way, not only EA doesn't want politics nor religion involved in their games but since they just did and people not being happy with it, they started censoring whoever was not happy about it. And what I see is that not only I am wrong for trying to remove something I don't want on my screen and being forced to see (in this case politics), but I am also considered mentally ill for speaking out ?
If I get into a game I just wanna play that game and if they communicate game-related content that's ok (even then I would still enjoy having the option to remove notifications).

p.s. I'm still amazed u brought the "mental health" thing into this, congratulations speaks up about what type of person you are.

j@Astropithecus_93I dont really sugarcoat things I just speak what I feel lmao dont take it too personally, it shouldn’t really bother you that much every game has those boxes hell Im looking at one on fortnite right now... what was frustrating me on apex a couple weeks ago was that the missions were glitched so after every single match it had a pop up to finish the mission even after you finished it... something that constantly pops up and interferes with your gameplay is one thing but something that is just there isnt an issue

@Astropithecus_93 The fact you think its a political message shows how small minded you are, you dont understand so dont write paragraphs like you have lived there life

@Astropithecus_93 Yeah, the short answer is EA wants to do some heavy virtue signaling for PR brownie points.

And the long answer, EA doesn't want to see anything that disagrees with this on their forums, and they delete all posts with opposing views. They bring political propaganda into their games, force it down your throat, and demand that you accept it without a word any which way, so you aren't allowed to disagree or question.
You also will be hard pressed to find any responses from anyone who has given this an actual 'open minded' deep thought.

I honestly wouldn't waste your breath talking about it on here, EA has made it clear they don't respect free speech, and they will force their opinion on you. But this thread will be deleted soon anyways, so whatever.
  • @DaleWWilson95Calling someone a racist is the insult from 5 years ago. It's been thrown around so much, its about as shocking as hearing someone say their name.

And the actual definition of racism has to do with thinking a specific race is superior. You obviously don't think all races are equal, so that makes you a hypocritical closet racist. (Aren't you shocked to your core because I used the word "racist"!??!?!?!?!? So scary, right?)

These brainless immature accusations only make you look like you don't have the ability to think for yourself.

@4ccbf460f7b926b1 To remove it means you would have to alter the client to not display it. Which would not be allowed at all. It is something you will have to just no look at. I mean all the screen you got and you focus on one banner tag on the ui out of everything. That my friend is your problem. No one is forcing you to look at it hit play go about your day.
  • @E9ine_AC EA has the right to do whatever they want to their game. But just pretend for a moment that the message was religious, or pro-Trump, lol.
You'd have a media frenzy, riots, and dozens of trending boycott Apex movements.

All I'm doing is calling out that a video game shouldn't be political. Just as you'd hear about constantly under my example scenarios.

That was a risk the company was willing to take. Some got offended maybe uninstalled some like myself prolly seen it and said bleh while i believe everyone matters which dont even matter right now. But its their company to do as they wish post as they want if get offended then you do if not then you dont. Its a game like you say so why pay attention to things not game related?

  • @E9ine_ACExactly, I saw it and was like whatever and started playing its no big deal I feel about the same about this as I did about those posts about bloodhounds quips being against some peoples religion, everyone has their own beliefs and backgrounds just because you are offended doesn't mean everyone else is offended by it most people will see it as a harmless thing and keep playing the game

@4ccbf460f7b926b1 Yes it is an insult from 5 years ago and yet it still persists in our society. Racism will NEVER disappear, it has already digested itself within our society at the very heart and soul.

What dale is trying to say is that all lives DO matter but at this moment in time more people from the black community are dying than any other race in the US and it took the entire world to be halted by a deadly pandemic to realise something needs to be done about it.

Racism is wrong no matter how you look at it, just because the dictionary definition of racism is to do with acting like you're the superior race does not mean that acting like every other race is below you isn't also racist, because it is.

I would suggest reading this comment, not typing in anger, but instead breathing for at least a minute and thinking how blacks have been treated currently and throughout history. It's very sad however you look at it and you'll understand why a united front is needed. If you cannot feel the pain of the black community then it really does mean you are a racist, that or you don't have any sympathetic qualities within you, or narcissistic as hell and only think about yourself and what you can gain out of life.

@MoNosDirtyGamingI'm not going to put a whole lot of effort into my reply, because aside from seeming like you were accusing me in the 3rd paragraph, I don't really disagree.
But that wasn't the point of my replies. I replied to Dale because he flung around the word racist in the typical incorrect way today, making the word lose its meaning.
Real racists exist, but accusing everyone who doesn't conform exactly to your beliefs isn't racism, and it makes the word lose its importance when you try to bully people with it.

(Also, EA isn't doing this to be human. I can assure you that a company like this just wants it as a PR stunt. Which is why I disagree with it being in a video game)

@4ccbf460f7b926b1 I agree with you, and people are missing the point and they start with offending and calling out "racism" whenever you disagree with them. Your analogy is perfect, if there was a message about the examples you gave people would lose their minds about it and start to boycott, etc. Isn't it funny when you try to speak freely and point out what might be wrong (in a polite and rational manner), you always get censored or shut down by either the company itself or by trolls who don't even make a valid point and quickly recurr to offensive and incriminating language.
Anyway you are perfectly right, there is not point to try to bring this further but I will do it if they try to censor me or this thread, because if I don't do it then I feel that I become an accomplice.

p.s. to all those who are against this mindset I have a question for you: why didn't they put this message in-game at the launch of the game? Wasn't maybe because it wasn't fashionable/dandy to do so?

Peace to all, and remember: we are not all americans and not everyone lives in the USA.

Are we still talking about the black notification banner at the bottom right of the lobby screen? Because if so, that's just sad. It's an awareness notification, not politics. If you think it's politics, I really hope you don't have equality mixed up.

Actually people... It's only YOUR life, and those of your squad-mates, that "matter".

Just play the game, leave the politics out. That's a RL issue
