Re: Leaver penalty also in non-ranked games pretty please.

@MrZentrierer No. Just no. This game is already heavy with the penalty on ranked. But, on casual games to? That’s a very bad idea to do.

I have a better idea. Dump the banner system. It's dumb. I get it; if you're playing with your friends, and you want to stick with them even if it means sitting there with your thumb up your butt waiting, you probably like it. In random squads, it's ridiculous. Who thought that a feature that obligates you to sit there and NOT play the game was a good idea? You die, get picked up, and now what? Wait? Wait for something that may or may not even happen? For how long? I've run in to some pretty lengthy ones.

Then, if/when you finally get respawned, a large and extremely-loud ship makes a big, fat, lengthy show of it to half the map, letting everyone know that a completely-helpless player has re-entered the game. Thanks, drop ship! Guess I'll spend the next 10 minutes running away from everyone and looking for loot that no longer exists, if I manage to survive that long.

    So, my choices are:

    1. Don't play the game while I sit there and watch other people play it. Wait for what could be a very lengthy period of time, then be forced to play the game in a way that I don't enjoy.

    2. Leave, jump on a new team, and get on with it.

I'll be honest, I've chosen #2 on many occasions, especially when the game is in the very early going. I'll also do it if the circle is on me when I go down, and it doesn't look like anyone is going to pick me up, and with how stupid-fast and strong the circle is now, why would they?

This will never happen, even less likely than them ever making ranked actually ranked. Apex is a pub stomp casual fps crossed with an mmorpg at every level, except (recent) tournaments.

Just like they need randoms mixed with teams in ranked to enable short queue hard pubstomping for the benefit of streamers* they also need no penalty to keep the ultra stomp unranked mode full of people taking turns at stomping and being stomped.

Haven't you noticed that they even encourage solo drop leavers: quests incetivize solo dropping, using some weapon(s) you don't want to, dying, and disconnecting. Alternatively, sometimes you simply see the flight path = it's not likely anyone else will go where you must kill or damage for quest, so you can just disconnect instantly :D

A leaver = some one to fill another game; shorter queue time, better supply of people to stomp (the stompers are also those being stomped on in a different lobby next time).

These are the golden rules of Apex legends:

    1. Only play with a full premade, ever, any game type. If you can't and for some reason feel compelled to play anyway, then smurf, smurf, and smurf again so you're playing a level of opposition that you can regularly beat 1v3 (think of this as DIY solo queue).
    2. Play ranked like casual at every level till diamond (unless you're really a master/pred skilled team but don't play much; then play diamond like casual too). This will protect yourself from being stomped by significantly better teams and (after a while) it will reduce how often you get that sad empty feeling after destroying teams so hard that you feel bad about it.
    3. Do the quests as a random in un-ranked, instant disconnect, don't care about anything except maximizing time efficiency of questing.
    4. Buy a new graphics card or reduce your resolution every time they change a map or relase a new map, and occasionaly when they merely do an update.
    5. Get back to playing Diabotical every weekend and thank 2GD for bringing us an FPS that is so enjoyable, responsive, compeitive, fast, full of movement skill and devoid of rng.

It's hard to accept and follow the rules, but without solo queue, without ranked which is actually ranked and not heavily grind based, and given that premades and randoms are mixed together, this is the way.

Then you will enjoy Apex for what it actually is.

*ok. ok, everyone likes a bit of pub stomping, even if they aren't a professional pub stomper like shroud.
