Re: Mac OS (m1)
@Jquan727Its not as "easy" as you might think. EAC only works on linux bcs Valve "strongarmed" EA with the Steamdeck (SteamOS which is basically a Linux).
But thats not even the main hurdle to take :
The Steamdeck is a Gamingdevice (running with an X86 Instruction Set like most PCs and a DX/Vulkan/OpenGl capable GFX core), which is projected to sell in the Millions to GAMERS. The M1 is too expensive for what you get as a Gamingmachine, so most likely only a very very small percentage of the M1 Users will use this for Gaming and only a super small fraction of those People want to play Apex on those Machines.the M1 wasnt made with gaming in mind, you can tell by Apple using their own Visual API called Metal instead of the widely accepted Vulkan,DirectX or OpenGL, which makes it very unattractive for Developers to even think of a conversion. Hell, they even marked OpenGL as deprecated since 10.14 , which is further indication that Apple doesnt really care about Gaming on their Computers.
So if you have a very limited amount of potential Customers, paired with a relatively high Cost in development since everything GFX has to be rewritten for Metal, its very unlikely that EA opens the checkbook to pay Respawn for a Mac Conversion.
The only Solution for you might be a Virtual Windows Machine in Parallels, and i doubt the Performance would be that great.
