This is an interesting change indeed. I have my Season 2 Diamond trail (which I'm glad I got to keep), which feels pretty cool to have a "Legacy" item of some sorts. I'm not sure why they didn't allow players to keep them anymore... perhaps it would give incentive to keep achieving their high rank each season?
