High Elo Players Are Being Punished by Dropzone

I am quitting the game as of now until the Dropzone system is removed. Such a terrible system should not exist. I am constantly forced to run into the zone and pushed into fights in areas I do not want to play in. This should not be something you decide for players — it is not fair.

I hope you remove this system from the game as soon as possible. I feel like I am being punished for playing at high elo, and honestly, this has completely killed my enjoyment of the game.

  • Hello, i understand the frustration of this system however try to look at it differently, to your advantage if you can. For example, you know where everyone lands making it way easier to predict where people will go ahead of time, so you can forms paths to avoid choke points.

  • Hello, I understand what you're saying, but my frustration isn't about not adapting — it's about the kind of gameplay this system encourages.

I don't want to play by constantly running away from areas or avoiding half the map just to not get caught in dead zones. I don't want to spend 10–15 minutes running from one side of the map to the other, only to get shot by someone who landed early in an advantageous spot and has been sitting inside a building with a sniper the whole time.

For me, Apex Legends is at its best when it rewards movement, smart fights, and good positioning in the moment — not when it forces players into passive playstyles or long rotations just to avoid predictable choke points.

I’m not trying to "escape the system" — I’m saying the system itself pushes gameplay toward slower, more passive experiences, which isn't why many of us enjoy Apex in the first place. I hope you understand what I mean.

    I get this. 100%. I really do.

And yet this is just simply not the way the battle royale formula works, at least not as it was implemented in this game seven years ago. The game, with jump masters and freedom to choose your own landing zone, is all about personal choice and free will, and it absolutely does not care about whether hot or cold drops make for the most compelling gameplay. If you need more structure and predictability and controlled pacing then it's possible that battle royale is not for you. Fixed drops, and the more paced engagements it provides, might seem comforting and entertaining in the moment, but it doesn't make you a better player. In my opinion it makes players lazy - players who would be better served by team deathmatch. Or a different non-br game all together.
