Where they current preds or just players with pred badges? I played the entirely of the last split in plat1 and plat2 on my solo Q account (so hardstuck haha) on EU servers and I cant remember I saw current preds in my game but it maybe depens on what region you play in and the size of the player base there.
@Balladalidila I've only seen pred badges myself. However, I have been seeing current diamonds in my gold lobbies. I guess the pool of players is so low that there's not enough players to pull from.
Edited: One thing for sure is that the game needs a cap on how low you derank on your own or when we enter a new split. If you're a masters/pred, this should be diamond. If you're diamond, this would be plat or gold 1. If you're gold/plat, silver should be fine. Rookie to Silver should be placed into Rookie/Bronze. Players who are diamond to pred should NEVER be placed into lobbies with players who are rookie to gold. Plat players are a different story as they're close to diamond, but they should only see diamond players, not masters/preds.
Judging by this pred's banner frame, this player was last season's pred, (pred placement is hidden to prevent name lookup), so they shouldn't even be in my lobby. I never hit diamond, masters, or pred, besides S17 where I did get masters, (but S17 was a bad season for rank, so I don't count that as being a true masters player).
They didn't seem to be cheating, so there's that at least.
Yeah, quite normal to see pred, master (which really deosnt mean anything anymore since everyone got one a couple of splits ago), 4k, 20kills badges in even bronze. The split reset seems to be there just to lure players to grind every split. So I agree; either reduce/remove the reset OR boost smurfing players out faster. If you get 3-4k dmg, 10-15 kills and top 3 in any rank, you clearly are to good for your current rank. That doesnt happen by accident or luck. give them 1000 RP right away after such match and smurfing will be much harder.
