Re: Rage quitters

@PJBurrows1991

Funny, I played one single match of Straight Shot and I quit. It was horrific. But to each their own.

I guess my question would be: does the penalty in ranked actually stop people from quitting? And by 'quitting' I don't just mean hitting the quit button. I'm talking about soft quitting too. AFKing, walking out of the circle to die and making banner impossible to retrieve, any generally unproductive behavior.

What I'm trying to get at here is whether or not these penalties are actually effective. In my experience you can't force an angry or frustrated player into a state of good sportsmanship no matte how hard you punish them. Stupid human psychology, right?

  • @reconzero I started this season on the Friday after it came out, so I’m guessing those who didn’t like Straight Shot had stopped playing by then (you for example). I think the reason people didn’t rage quit as much in SS was because you didn’t need to grab their banners, so it was much easier to respawn. In the 9 days I played SS, I got about 70 wins, due to team mates not rage quitting. Since then, I’ve probably had about 5 wins (not that I’ve played much because I’m sick of getting left solo in games).

    I’m talking about rage quitters. They quit because they die, and then quickly join a new game. If they are dead, they can’t walk out in to the storm, and yes they could go AFK, but when they get respawned back in they will just die again. They won’t get into another game any quicker.

    Yes there is other reasons players rage quit, but this is the biggest issue. They jump hot, they die within a minute, they quit to join another game, leaving your team at a disadvantage. Obviously, this was an issue which is why they brought a penalty into Ranked. I think the penalties I suggested are fair penalties, and would make the game more enjoyable while playing with randoms.
