Its unfair but they tried this and people would abused it by just alt+f4, pulling out the ethernet cord on PC or "dashboarding" on console (whatever that means). The game cant differentiate between a DC caused by technical issues and a DC caused deliberately. And to be honest; some DCs caused by technical issues are 100% technical issues on the client side and is therefor not a valid reason to avoid punishment and RP loss. So the only compromise I can think of that would work is if everyone gets one DC "for free" per 24 h or something. Then you can decide to stop playing ranked for a day if you get DC one time.
