Re: Skill Based Match Making

Hey there. I am interested in your perspective given that you perceive yourself as being part of the larger portion of the Apex population that you think SBMM is supposed to aid! I made a post on here titled "Let's Talk about Skill-Based Matchmaking?". Here is the link - https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Feedback/Lets-Talk-About-Skill-Based-Matchmaking/m-p/8518898#M34493

You may believe that you are being unfairly targeted as someone who is better than you are - But what if I told you that SBMM tends to work in a way where you are exactly where you should be right now? I echo this thought in my original post mentioned above when I explain that the result of SBMM is that you end up punishing players that perform better. The approach is far more top-down in that it is not attempting to raise up the lower skilled players, but instead prevents players who perform better at some level from being able to access broader lobbies. I explained it in much simpler terms "You either get better, or just die.". If you do not perform better than the enemies as you get more skilled, you just die. There is so little variance, the little clutch moments happen less and less, it gets harder to outplay people, tougher to do solo matches, mistakes are magnified, and your lower skilled friends cannot contribute in your games anymore (Making it tough or unplayable to queue with friends.).

Hopefully I provided you with a base to understand SBMM better!
