Re: Vantage ult can hit players behind cover

In fact it looks like the dummies leg just might be slightly out of cover on the Vantage shot.

If the vantage bullet is big enough to hit a target which it misses by that wide of a gap, the bullet should be big enough to deflect off of the wall before it hits the target. The fact that the bullet isn't stopped by the wall is proof of what I'm saying.

Vantage's bullet appears to have a larger hitbox in relation to hitting players than it does in relation to hitting cover. This is why it can pass through a tiny narrow gap, but still hit a player behind cover. This is the principle problem being reported in this thread.

I understand that the large hitbox of the bullet is by design. I can understand her shots hitting like this in an open area. But in a situation like this, if the bullet is big enough to hit the dummy despite being well wide of the target, the bullet's size should cause it to be stopped by the wall before it reaches the dummy.

The shot looks clean from what I can tell.
if the dummy was completely under cover and not soo much on the edge/slightly out of cover I might agree with you but this is way to close to call foul.

in fact it looks like the hit is on the leg that just might be just out of cover (razors edge here).

Watch as the vantage shot is deflected by ally Wraith's hitbox despite missing her by a considerable margin. The next shot is fired significantly closer to the crate than the first shot was to Wraith, but does not deflect off of it. This is proof of what I'm saying about the behavior of the Vantage bullet. It behaves like a bowling ball in terms of hitting players, but like a normal bullet when it comes to hitting cover.

Look at the impact point of the bullet on the training dummy. This dummy is not at all exposed at the point where the bullet lands.

If this shot deflects off the wraith's hitbox, how is it possible for the second shot to sneak by the crate - unless what I'm saying is true?

That looks like a lot of apples and oranges there, and picking what tastes better.

either way we are just going to have to disagree on this.

It seems like we will have to disagree, because the evidence clearly supports what I am saying, while you are disagreeing without any proof.

Your first set of vids and pics including the close ups where all the proof I needed to come up with my evaluation of your claim, providing a different data point would not be looking at the same perameters.

I am  not dismissing your claim totally just stating with what you are providing it is all so on the razors edge that it is not a clear cut case that Vantage can hit people behind cover, as they may just be out of cover. Your pics not mine and like I say that bots leg looked just out of cover.

In other words, you do not have any explanation for the newest evidence, but you are choosing to maintain your position regardless.

I will ask you again the same question I asked in my most recent post.

    > Vantage's bullet behaves like a bowling ball in terms of hitting players, but like a normal bullet when it comes to hitting cover.

    > If this shot deflects off the wraith's hitbox, how is it possible for the second shot not to deflect off the crate — unless what I'm saying is true?

Either way I do have to say even though we will disagree on this topic. I had a very nice discussion with you about it and like I said if you think that strongly about it post it in the bug section. Maybe you are right and my eyes are deceiving me.

Fair enough, I appreciate your criticism of the initial evidence as it led me to create a clearer follow-up post.

no problem, I do know that weapons react differently vs Allie’s however I have not tested that stuff and the firing range has some unique qualities as per weapons and interactions. I read somewhere on the boards someone was claiming the bullets would richochet off of walls and such.

@Asmodeus566 I have tested her enough in the firing range to tell you with complete confidence that, YES, she can hit targets behind cover and as well as making contact without aiming within the hit box. This has been proven already with countless videos or casuals as well as top players. There is no debate here.... much like the hamster servers EA refuses to upgrade.
