Re: We Seriously Need The Cheating To Stop!

@AnyBrains If we go for soft cheating like cfgs, macros, scripts, soft aim bot, etc then i would think its more than 30%. Dont get your hopes high since cheating seems to be at the bottom of the problems to solve and it might stay there forever seeing how they create new ones every season.

  • Yes it can go even higher than 30%.

Rhetorically speaking, what's the point of having any other conversation with EA, other than this.

Matched up against the same skill leveled cheaters, online gaming is just a waste of time.

We will never be able to achieve our full potential, unless being extremly gifted, which is a small percentage of players.

    Hi @AnyBrains,

I've merged some of your posts in this thread.

Cheating is indeed a very important topic, and it's imperative that cheaters get stopped. In Apex Legends, we are directly partnered with Easy Anti Cheat.

I can assure you, that our teams are aware and are constantly working on new and better ways to prevent cheaters, as well as players gaining any unfair advantage from abusing bugs or exploits. There are constant ban waves, but for security reasons we don't talk about it often or give too much insight into our efforts. However, it's important to note that not every good player is a cheater, and there are many incredible Apex players.

EA in general is also stepping up their anti cheat efforts and is taking it very serious. Just last year, we launched our new kernel level EA Anti Cheat. It's currently being tested in FIFA 23 and more games will follow. That's not to say if it will get implemented in Apex Legends, but it might interest you regardless.

More information about it and your anti cheat approach can be found in this article:

  • Sounds about right.

I believe it was somewhere about 5-10% few years back,

but now its atleast 20% maybe more.
    Its really that bad nowadays.

Last year was the worst year I ever had gaming

and its getting worse every day.

Overwatch, PUBG, Apex, Tarkov everything is totally INFESTED.

Just went thru few hack forums and found out that EAC (Easy anti cheat) updates dont even patch most of 1st page GOOGLE hacks...

Thats very good anticheat... Unless Respawn/EA are selling cheats themselves.

    Wouldnt surprise me.

As long as people keep buying their games and skins,
they will do nothing about cheaters...

Just stop feeding them and they will act accordingly. 🙂

Why would they spend money where they dont have to right ??

I have given up that the cheater/hacker fest will ever be truly addressed. To fix this issue, and I agree... it is fixable. But will cost alot more than the gaming companies are willing to spend - "cough cough EA"

Besides, Respawn creates legend abilities now which are no different than the cheats we are all screaming to deal with. So my confidence in a Dev team to deal with cheats when they are creating them as abilities, is NIL.

I laugh every time I see some one that has been banned for wallhacking, when the Respawn Dev meta is exactly that. Do as we say, not as we do I guess lol.

    comical.

At the end of the day, when you consider in the world of Gaming Development there are many angles at play here.

This is not to undermine and say that, the gaming industry should look down on casual gamers, and consider them less, but, shouldn't we at least acknowledge people make a living in the gaming indsutry, on both sides of the fence, gaming companies and developers and professional gamers, eSports, etc...

So is EA holding accountability/credibiity to protect the Professional Gaming industry at the highest level of standards here?

If cheating isn't given the ultimate priority over any other issue, then how can professionalism in gaming be held up, and professionals succeed without negatively affecting the industry on professional levels.

Cheating is ruining online gaming and the professional gaming industry. ☹️

  • @AnyBrains well said but sadly they continue to ignore the reality of it all but soon enough it'll sink just like titan. it's pretty sad and pathetic if you ask me especially the blatant cheaters. How they continue to deem these issues solved just goes to show how pathetic its really become especially when the issues haven't been fixed or "Solved" as they like to caption it online so people will believe ea as if they haven't lied before or publicly called on it. They just want you to spend money and don't care for the consumers and it goes to show time and time again.

@AnyBrainsEffectively policing cheating protects everyone at all levels. It protects the integrity of the game at the professional level where I think Respawn focuses more of their attention.

Would love to see them try out the AI & machine learning based anti cheat you've pimped here previously.
