@FMA1498 Caustic has a lot of defense. Enemies shouldn’t be walking through your gas, and as a Caustic, you shouldn’t let them. The gas gives you a pretty big advantage if an enemy is in it, so use it. It’s mainly area denial, not straight up damage. You may not be able to get the same damage as ults, but that’s more because a) Bangalore and Gibraltar don’t have any other damaging abilities, and b) enemies won’t just walk straight into your traps/it’s not going to instakill them.
That leads me to my next point, the damage. How much damage do you think it should do? It shouldn’t do that much, or else it’ll do ridiculous amounts of damage.
He also isn’t a “tank”. He is a defensive trap character. This isn’t overwatch, he doesn’t have to create space. He gate keeps enemies. Also, the fortified perk doesn’t make him instantly a tanky defensive character, it’s just because he happens to have a bigger hitbox. Wattson is also a trap character, but she is smaller and has the Low Profile perk.
Caustic hasn’t gotten a buff, but he also hasn’t gotten nerfs. (At least any I can think of.) This means Respawn thinks he is somewhat balanced.
Bangalore got a nerf, (a while ago) that reduced her smoke to only two charges.
Usage doesn’t exactly mean they are underpowered. A big factor is that Caustic’s play style is more camping in a house which isn’t as appealing as say, grappling or moving 30% faster.
Despite this, I’m not against a Caustic buff. I think it would be interesting if Caustic got a buff. Definitely no nerfs though.
