Re: Why is there a report smurfs option, but nothing to enforce it?

@Android_Nana

Respawn are sneaky. I dont think they explicitly said that smurfing is bannable even if they added a report option for it. Same goes for the very subjective term "sabotage".... Actually, in the TOS of Apex, only four main categories of bannable offenses are listed: cheating, making false claims to EA representatives, hack accounts and lastly trolling by "hate speech and offensive behavior. I mean just think about it; they purposly set the min required level for ranked to 10 even though an "actual" level 10 player, i.e first time level 10, have no business in ranked what so ever. They even have a built in smurfing feature i.e soft resets. How could they make smurfing illegal when the game design itself invites people to smurf in ranked?

The report option is most likely there to protect smurfs from getting too many false reports of cheating. Now, people will report obvious smurfs for smurfing, reports that leads straight to the trash bin =)

    I feel like they let people smurph, cuz these smurphs tend to buy stuff as well, but its also annoying cuz the smurphs also bring in their strikepack console friends.

    @Midnight9746 Most of the smurfs I have encountered based on their hopefully or at least what seemed to be honest feedback did it because:

    a) they reached diamond/master and don't want to grind, play against mostly hackers
    b) they have this weird thing going on with enjoying decimating weaker opponents or as they call it having fun while not trying (to play the game well) analogy would be going to GYM while being drunk and participating in some kids competition when you at your drunk state still can lift much more than any kid
    c) they have had some issues with their main account - hacking or some other rule braking most of the time
    d) switch from console to PC
    e) no heirlooms on their "main" account
    f) "playing with friends" even though now this has gone down in popularity thanks to the change in season 10 when only at diamond level +/- 1 rank rule starts to apply
