As a PC player I do not like automation's. One of the fun aspects of playing this game on MnK is that movement is key, you duck dive evade in gun fights. But the problem is that movement wont matter at all against aim assist, it will keep tracking you - on mouse you predict aim so you will miss shots when someone is moving sporadically. The fix is easy, make PC aim-assist miss more shots when people are moving sporadically.
Why MnK players get tilted by controller players is that having a good aim with MnK takes light years more in effort, and the hardest part is having a consistent aim. You can fine tune your aim for 10 years or what not and still get lazered by someone on a controller who spent a week playing with the medium.
I think a good change would be to make aim-assist more natural, when people move sporadically it should miss more - perhaps give them a compensation with a fast button to armor swap from friendly/enemy boxes.
Problem I have with aim-assist, is not facing xbox/ps4 players but when facing someone with a decent PC rigg on a controller - it is like facing an aimbot (in close range).
The other day I got lazered by a horizion PC controller player as they uplifted while going up in the air - thats pretty hard for even the best MnK players to do.
Issue is that I have to play like I am facing an aimbotter vs a PC controller player in close range, and I have to always second guess (is that a controller player or aimbotter, can I push or not - if its a gibby PC controller player I wont be able to push them alone in close range). And that kind of screws you up. I like playing this game full on going in blazing, but when I always have to second guess It really ruins the flow of the game.
Exactly my issue with aim assist.
Why do people automatically assume we mean "it's like aimbot!"
We're not saying that. But that "stickiness" it has when changing directions IS INHUMAN. When strafing, it's literally impossible for a human to track your movement change INSTANTLY. There is a delay where you have to first FLICK and then you can track.
With aim assist it sticks so when you change directions it compensates for the reaction delay. It's unfair entirely and makes you have to play the game differently.
Easy fix? Just allow us to opt out of crossplay. Everybody wins. Whether or not you folks saying aim assist actually works or not it won't matter. Us who thinks it DOES can opt out. And those who think it DOESN'T can still play crossplay.
