It is added to compensate for the fact that aiming with a thumbstick is more difficult than with a mouse, a far more accurate tool.
Zero mentions of us being granted aim assist. - Tom0ve4 years agoLegend

I'm the Source 😂
Playing Shooters for ~15 years, i know how a mouse move change the view in a Game.
And it looks like I'm not alone:

But... oh sorry, I almost forgot, looks like you don't know about the Mouse Acceleration, for some reason Aim Assist also get activated with that!
From platin on I had to activate it, because everyone else used it, I noticed in the Spectator Mode unusual mouse movements at the time, while trying around a bit, i found that the mouse acceleration is that OP feature. On the day I activated mouse acceleration in the Apex Settings, my K / D increased from ~ 1.2 to ~ 1.4.
You can read my despair here in German:

@Tom0veI feel like despite your gaming experience of 15 years is quite wrong. Im in the It field ive help build and still build games to this day. Im not just a player im a developer of certain games to this day. Mouse acceleration plays zero roles into aim assist.
Mouse acceleration is a system which is intended to make your mouse more efficient to use. It works by moving the cursor a little further when your mouse movements are quick. In other words, the faster you move your mouse, the further it travels across the screen.Any good player you ever see in this game will never have mouse acceleration enabled. All it does is faster cursor speeds. lol

There is nothing wrong with my statement!
But Usually yes, I've always played without Mouse Acceleration and aim assist shouldn't have anything to do with it, but we are here at EA (Electronic ARTS) ... respawn apparently built a back door into it. Just test it on your own, but not every server reacts in the same way! So test a little longer before you form an opinion. 😅✌ - E9ine_AC4 years agoHero+@Tom0ve I don't need to form a opinion facts are my opinion developers of mouse acceleration are my opinion. If it added aim assist you would see every single pro on mouse and keyboard using this feature. But you will not find this because you have either played a mind trick on yourself or gullable to believe anything you read on the internet.
Mouse acelleration was not even made for gaming whats so ever it was made for more percise mouse and quicker movement speeds of the cursor.
It was also created during the 90's for the average pc user as dpi on mouses was very very low back then. So again your statement is quite wrong and misleading to people on these forums. - Tom0ve4 years agoLegend
@E9ine_AC
Sorry, my English is not that good, i don't want to attack you in any kind!
I just write here my experience... I don't read anything anywhere, i tested it on my own... like you see i collect experience with that Mouse Acceleration since November... playing Apex since release.
Your developer statement... i think its enough to remember about Titanic... Developer also Sayed it's Safe.
Perhaps there are also hackers behind it who have sneaked extended rights from the servers ... in any case, I can say for sure that something is not right.
But I'm pretty sure it's official, because even in the trailer you can see strong aim assist.
