@Blazed_Cajun
You do realize that Apex used to be a skilled game, like it took actual skills to win, but there's so many noobs that play, that legit every single skill combo, advantages, etc. are nerfed to the ground or removed.
Examples:
- Reviving players with a gold backpack used to be stealthy almost, now you hear the crackling of the revived player's armor
- Spitfire used to been decent, but got "buffed" for no reason at all, and now it’s one of the main guns low leveled players run, because it spits bullets out fast, has a huge mag, and can be fairly accurate long range
- Wraith used to be able to portal in the ring and use her portal freely to out play opponents, now her portal closes after 4 seconds when both sides are in the ring, (I mean this one is fair, but its meh)
- Another thing about Wraith, was that she used to Naruto run and could phase instantly, this was changed because noobs complained about being unable to hit her, and that she phases away too quickly. Her hitbox also got slightly bigger
- Certain guns were care packaged because they required skill (Peacekeeper), and the unskillful gun (Mastiff) legit plague the game for a season or so. care packaged weapons are meant to be OP but limited, Mastiff is OP and feels like a care packaged weapon.
- "SBMM" puts low level players on teams that have 500+ lvl players, who achieved gold-pred rankings, we're pretty much expected to carry these players.
- Wattson used to have pylons that never expired, and up to 3, this was strong, sure, but it gave her the power to defend well, they nerfed her into the ground by making her only have one, and then having 3, but with a timer
- Caustic's gas used to be a threat (even though people just run through it anyways), now it’s a joke with its static 5 damage per second
- Devotion was care packaged (rightfully so, cuz it was OP), now its back as ground loot, so noobs can use it much like the spitfire
- Charge riffle is basically snipers with a handi cap, because it’s almost impossible to miss your shot, I don't know WHY this gun was added at all, as it’s such a cheap gun to kill with.
- Some legend abilities were also tweaked because they worked so well and got the legend picked the most, win the most, or something, this includes Path's grapple, it was nerfed so Paths can't grapple after you quickly or as much, Lifeline's going to lose her rez shield next update, etc.
There are a few changes that were buffs to these nerfs, like Wraith's longer phase, and Path's grapple cooldown by distance, however a lot of the nerfs we're getting is because players with zero skills are complaining, and Respawn is removing the competitive scene to cater to them. Like with Lifeline's rez shield, I know its crazy OP, but you can bumb rush her drone rez, grenade around it, shoot her down first, ult (Gib or Bangalore) over the revive, throw a caustic ult, knuckle cluster them, use Horizon's tactical to move the knocked somewhere else, or ult to pull back the Lifeline, portal the knocked to your team and kill them, I can keep on going on how EASY it is to counter her ability, you can even rev ult up to her or silence her with the rev tact, but saying all these counters aren't going to make noobs stop complaining or make the devs stop nerfing legends into the ground.
"Please, just get better at the game and start clicking heads. It is so easy."
A lot of the people who are complaining are usually level 500's who place in plat or above rankings. At least for me, being a plat, I just want to OPT out of cross-play not be FORCED into it.
Yeah, we have better movement, but that does not do much when some console users slap on xim or strike packs to track our heads like it is a hack. I fought against a console player yesterday, I shot first with an R-99, emptied half or more of the mag into them, broke armor, took half the health, and they sprayed the spitfire for a second and a half, and my purple armor, and health was instantly gone. Probably having to due to console's low frame rate and the fact that bullets from console player's guns tend to curve to hit targets. You can be off by a few inches, and it would curve to hit, even if that player is BEHIND a wall.
No one here is complaining because they're unskilled, they're most likely complaining about the unfairness of aim assist + strike pack, etc. and the fact that all the "skills" of the game is dumbed down to better fit the noobs.
I'm not complaining about players who are better than me, I know that plat is about as high as I can get on my own and I've accepted that, I just don't like the fact that console players can look at someone briefly and already have that player knocked.
There's no measure in place to stop people from using 3rd party things like strike packs, people can even trick the system into thinking their mouse and keyboard is a controller, which gives them the aim assist + better control so they can always hit their targets.
Also, you're kind of wrong about "Controller players literally only have their thumbs. Meanwhile. M/K players have their whole arm to work with."
Controller players have their thumbs, palm of their hands, and index/middle fingers, M/K users have index/middle fingers on right hand, and the use of all the fingers on the left hand, maybe the use of the right hand thumb if they changed key binds, like I put punch on a mouse side button because its more convenient then reaching for a key.
Ideally, controller players should be able to use the left stick while looting a box to move like M/K users, and be able to have some of the movement as M/K, but lose the aim assist.
I've played Call of Duty back on the PS3, and the first thing I did was turned off aim assist because it kept locking onto nearest targets when I was aiming at distant players, and guess what? I was doing extremely well and even had the whole lobby in a free for all man hunt me down, because no one could kill me, they either gotten blown up, shanked, or shot because I was listening to movement and protected the right areas. You know you're good, when the 3 people with mics start talking saying "EVERYONE GET THAT [redacted], and yes this was WITH a controller with NO aim assist.
Its legit not that hard to aim without aim assist, especially when controller users have sensitivity settings .
It's always funny when someone complains about cross-play, or aim assist, that there's someone who just says "lol git gud", let me guess, you're a console player who heavily benefits from aim assist, and don't want to have to develop actual skills? I can tell you right now, I didn't get good at Call of Duty instantly, or overnight, I played it for months on end, and eventually gotten good enough to hold my own against other players.
This is a DEVELOPMENT of skills, where overtime I gotten better at movement, shooting, and defending/attacking against other players. Building up your own skill is hard when you let a game setting control part of it for you, or use xim, strike packs, etc. to remove all of the skills required for you.
I'm not saying that everyone who use aim assist is bad either, I'm just saying, try not to depend on it, improve your own skills through practice and through play, it be more fun and rewarding when you know that the win you got, was all you, and not because of aim assist.
