So I’ve been playing apex since it launched. I’m not the best player in the world, but I’ve gotten to Diamond a few times and certainly enjoy the sweaty gameplay. BUT, there was recently a change to the matchmaking system that has completely ruined both casual and ranked play. I am now getting master and predator players in my lobbies (even in gold ranked lobbies). EVEN STILL, I am good enough to get some wins here and there with my premade squad in these insane lobbies. HOWEVER I am now trying to get my step brother into apex. He does not live with me, so when he told me that he went 7 straight matches without ANY DAMAGE, I thought he was insane. I told him that he must just be really bad as he is playing against other noobs. He insisted he was “getting lasered.” Finally I had him send me his login info and I logged into his account from my console to see what was going on. Here is the kill info from the VERY FIRST MATCH I PLAYED ON HIS ACCOUNT! WHY is a level 21 player who has never played the game being matched against a master badge player????? This new matchmaking has shown some weird quirks already, but this is ridiculous. Respawn better do something about this ASAP, or the player base will absolutely begins to shrink. Just revert to the old matchmaking system… that would be a quick and easy fix. AND I BLOCKED OUT ALL NAMES SO DO NOT REMOVE THIS PHOTO!!!

Don’t worry you’re not the only one experiencing this garbage matchmaking! We had predators matching up in our Bronze ranked matches at the start of the season and continuously are matched up with 2 stack 20 bomb 30k kill masters to preds in pubs! I have a 0.6 k/d lifetime and a 0.68 this season ffs! I should not be matched against the top 10% of the player base at all! Respawn just continues to drop the ball again and again!

Game is dead. I come back here to verify if it has been resurrected, but it hasn’t. C’mon, it has been a problem for 3 seasons now. 🙁

dudes, if one thing should be evident after 23 seasons, matchmaking is rigged and that wont change.

I'm an average, solo queue player and get matched with players worse than me and against players better than me all the time. It is horrible, especially when it does it 10 games in a row which it does fairly regularly.Your example of trying to get your step brother into Apex is exactly what Snip3down complained about a few months ago when trying to play Apex with his wife who is not as good as he is. She was getting destroyed and they both had a horrible time.

@GoSoxAV8 Think part of the reason is that people smurph and cheat on new accounts, while the current matchmaking system sees that and thinks "oh... these low levels are masters/pred level in terms of skill? cool!" and then pits new players against people who been sweating at the game.

@liber8mymadne55 I'm a brand new player with experience in other FPS games. I'm still trying to learn the maps and movement and I'm constantly being matched with people who seem like they participate in tournaments or something. I just want to chill, relax, and have fun shooting. I didn't ask for ultra diehard sweatfest. Also why are there only 2 game modes?

@GoSoxAV8 That's the thing, the matchmaking is so rubber bandy... ARE you good enough to get some wins? Or is the system backing off the difficulty because you're on a losing streak? I don't mean to insult you by any means, I'm saying both the wins and losses are manufactured and therefore empty.

I mean I’m good at the game, I’m not concerned with my experience since I enjoy the game and get enough wins. It just sucks that I’ll literally never be able to get my brother into it because he is literally getting destroyed every match by pred trail players. You should see his stats… it’s something absurd like 34 damage per game and .04 KD ratio.

I really don’t know how respawn to justify this without a reply. They should have the technology to see these things.

Let's face it, the gaming community has been crying about matchmaking since Day1 and has anything been done, nope.
Will anything ever be done, doen't look promising, but I guess we can keep crying and trying... LOL
The idea of having to get better and sooner or later, you have to play with the Big Boys, ok great, we all get it.
But yes, getting thrown in when you've barely played the game, or your KDR is low and you play against serious Preds, yes it is a problem.

There is no such thing as a smurph. Also, it's important to spell it correctly for people searching the term on Google if you want attention to your thread.....

I am not saying cheating does not happen, because it does in every live game, but I have yet to see why you say so so much? I encountered it when playing console because I saw players turbo crouch. It is a dead giveaway, while accuracy alone is not, but I don't get you?
